He's got to be the most boring man in politics today, to me he is a clone of John Major.
His monotone voice grates on me, why on earth the Labour Party think that he is the Messiah and will lead them into forming the next government is way beyond me, they're having a laugh surely, he needs a rocket up his backside, how did he ever get to where he is, tut tut, there is hope for us all.

The side effect were a pit 'pants' tho and, to be fair to teacake, it was another ill thought out relaxation.

13.32 Its not given a boost, they can't survive on half filled pubs, pubs have been going to the wall in there hundreds every week for the past 15 years. He would have been better off leaving them shut, than risk a rise in infections like we are seeing. Drink is available in supermarkets for people who need it. Its not the end of the world if pubs close, plus the added bonus of less crime to contend with.
Indeed teacake, a stupid argument, because if science is to be believed.... the 10pm curfew has reduced pub and restaurant takings by nearly 40%.

Not sure whether they are for or against the curfew, they seem to have a logical conflict.
Barsel; "The reason the 10pm curfew was brought in was because they thought that people would drink less and would therefore be less drunk and not become to affectionate /violent to each other and therefore could keep a distance. It didn't occur to them that people can get just as drunk in less time just by drinking quicker. Or that they would buy alcohol from the shops and carry on drinking in the streets. That's because they just don't think. " - That's what happens when you have people that don't drink or go to pubs making the rules about drinking and pubs.
TTT//[The Labour Party] haven't won an election since 1974//

I’m sure there’s a joke I’m missing here, but 1997, 2001, 2005?
that was Tory Lite, jo. I'm talking about real Labour.
"That's what happens when you have people that don't drink or go to pubs making the rules about drinking and pubs."

So you want the curfew lifted?
yes I want us to get back to as close to normal as possible, stop all this BS. If you are at risk isolate, if you have it isolate. Simples.
What about those who are asymptomatic?
Green King now closing 25 sites, loss of 800 jobs.

What a "good boost for business" that curfew was....
At least he doesnt mumble like that pillock in No 10.
TCL, it's primarily passed on by coughing and sneezing so those without symptoms will not be passing it on using the virus's main method of spreading. I'm not saying we shouldn't take sensible precautions, all the hand washing etc and unnecessary proximity but lets stop this madness.

Think about who they were replacing - a bonfire guy would have been a better bet than the incumbent at the time!!
I know very little about Starmer.
But since he became leader, Labour have taken a 3 point lead over the Conservatives in the polls.
So he must be doing something right.
I imagine that is what's prompted this thread, Sunk. The thought of Labour doing well brings chills to the spine of many.
Jno
I have picked up that many (or some) Conservatives are dissatisfied with Johnson and are already thinking about his replacement.
I suspect this thread is related to that. Our leader is doing terrible, so lets deflect to the other leader.
Looking at the state of Johnson today, he looked like he had been , Wacked by a mole. I think he is nearing the end of his time of his ambition to be a reincarnated version of Churchill. Is it the Beginning of the end.
Hope so.
// Wacked by a mole //

Are moles in England renowned for their whacking ?
Are you comparing this Starmer to a blind rodent ?
