naomi - // If they want to spout politics and become involved in controversial issues they should relinquish the Sussex title. Plain Mr & Mrs Markle would be more appropriate.

//'You know [he said] when you go in to a shop with your children and you only see white dolls, do you even think: 'That's weird, there is not a black doll there?' //

What nonsense. Black dolls have been around for years. I don’t imagine he visits many toy shops - but if she tells him that I guess he either thinks she’s right - or doesn't dare contradict her. //

I have never pondered the absence (at least the common sight of anyway) of black dolls in toy shops.

But if I was newly married to a mixed race woman who was giving me a hitherto unknown and unexperienced idea of what it is like to be black / mixed-race in America, then maybe that would focus my mind on the issue - and I think that is all that is happening here.

I don't think Harry is anyone's 'puppet' - and I think his recent behavior and statements have been a direct result of him seeing himself and his wife as Buckingham Palace puppets, and he has been kicking against that since he fell for Meghan and decided that was not the life he wanted for them and their son.
//The Monarchy should collapse soon if they dont grow a pair and lob these gifters out on their arris.//

The monarchy should be dissolved if they don't turf out a couple of people you don't like? You're surpassing yourself with the drivel you're spouting.
the English already got rid of the monarchy once, followed by Christmas. It didn't end so well.
He's no more Meghan's puppet than Boris is Dominic's.

Oooh-er.

It's such a stock answer to say let them get on with their lives but a ridiculous one - there is a different video blog from them almost daily in all the press. It's not like they are being snapped putting the bins out and having their private lives invaded, it's they who are putting it out there.
Harry Markle( formerly known as Prince) gives a detailed "video interview" to the Evening Standard but the Mail who reported the fact are now somehow remiss. Poor Harry said London sometimes “doesn´t feel as diverse as it actually is”...Ehh? What he means is it looks and sounds like Calcutta but the drains are for now still working. Wonder if she made him get rid of his nazi uniform. Feel free to cringe.

AH, 18:25 Thu, I've no idea why you addressed that post to me.

He didn't. He just put your name on it to show the copied quote was by you. Andy always does that.
You are right Mozz, I was responding to the point Naomi made about black dolls.
Yes, I know he does it but he just went on to give his own opinion - which he could have done without posting anything from anyone else. Very odd.
//On the other hand, as a Republican, I reckon he is doing a fine job. The Monarchy should collapse soon if they dont grow a pair and lob these gifters out on their arris.//

Isn't that what they're trying to do YM, get out of the Monarchy? They can't leave the family of course, it's biologically impossible, but If it weren't for the Daily Mail telling us to be angry about the latest thing they've said I doubt we'd have heard from them for a while.
Tomus, I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. I believe he was saying that the royal family need to kick these two into touch completely... not the other way around.
Just clicked on the link again, 9,450 comments at the moment of which I'm sure not many will be complimentary. This is why the Mailonline runs stories about them, because they know how it draws in the readers.

Well yes, they probably should, but he assumes that they aren't trying to kick themselves into touch into the first place, which I think they are, because of all the garbage that comes with being part of the monarchy - press intrusion etc - not because they have anything against the actual people.
Don't forget that by his behaviour he is depriving his son of his rightful heritage.

I don't think so. When he's old enough, I'm sure that if Archie wants to rejoin the family, he'd be welcomed with open arms.
When his grandfather ascends the throne he will by law automatically become a prince, even if he chooses not to use the title.
//Don't forget that by his behaviour he is depriving his son of his rightful heritage.//

I doubt Archie will give a toss. As long as he has a good relationship with his parents and the rest of the family I'm sure he'll be ok.

That is a massive assumption. I don’t think many of them can read, they just see a picture of H&M and go all frothy-mouthed.

If they were genuinely trying to distance themselves from the monarchy they would relinquish the Suffolk title … but they don’t because it’s a valuable asset. In fact it’s all they have to trade on.
