The virus is a fast moving one where changes are constantly happening as the government and WHO and scientists are learning daily so it's there's going to be U turns but I'd rather call it a learning curve than that
How would you have dealt with it, from beginning to now, fiddly?
Diddly, sorry.
vagus I thought the idea of a goverment was to lead so coming in after everyone else has left the room is leading . right I see
I always aim to please TTT. We may as well just let Nicola Sturgeon take over for the rest of the UK, she seems to have the bottle to make a decision, and that's when Doris makes his move, the same. Its obvious Doris can't make his own.
What Intrigued me about Boris when he became Pm. He immediately went out Brain Hunting. Why did he feel he had ignore his own MPs, and his own selected Cabinet. Then appoint Cummings . Do you think he knows something , but he Ain't telling us
.Into a wall.
I think he realised that the inflated grades he got years ago.... the cats out the bag.
thank god it is august and we can discuss the important things like
should corridors in skools be one way
or should the pupils be allowed to decide for themselves on the day?

every now and then someone says something sensible like " we are not sure the masks work"
which is kinda v near the troof: we know they dont
The masks are for confidence, pp... we don't know yet whether they are encouraging or discouraging most people from going out yet.

On the subject of masks - they are definitely making me reluctant to go shopping.

As for Boris's U-turns - having done his latest one and dressed up as Bob the Builder to daub a bit of yellow paint in a factory, he'll probably now go back into hiding for a while.
I dont go anymore either diddly. Just use click and collect at ASDA where it is outside so no face nappy.

I'm afraid local shops have lost out. Just hope it bought out more bed wetters than it put people off.
Personally, I'll wait before going to town for proper shopping, until face masks aren't required. But I don't know if I am in the majority or minority yet.
//I don’t see it as a u turn, I see it as the government reacting to the most recent advice, which is exactly what they should be doing. //

I agree with the last part, but the advice didn't change between 4pm and 10pm yesterday, though, did it? Or, in the case of exams, any outside observer could have predicted the sequence of events as soon as the same thing had happened in Scotland. What happened in the rest of the UK is the political equivalent of watching a car drive off a cliff, and laughing at the occupants of that car for being so stupid whilst also driving off the exact same cliff.
Why does the govt. think that people will be reassured that they will be safe if face-masks are worn? The feeling I pick-up from others is that 'if we have to wear facemasks it must be dangerous out there'. So it saps confidence instead of giving it. Yet I walk around the village and chat to people who are still terrified of going out shopping. Loopy.

I don't wear a mask and you would think that I'd be very ill by now if you listened to the govt. & some press.
jourdain, as has been repeated many times masks do not prevent you from catching Covid19, they protect others from getting it from an you if you are an infected person.
Personally I think that given that this situation is something that no government could have expected so they have done the best they can.
But there will always be complainers and those that think they can do a better job.
They don't, danny. Not the ones people are actually wearing. I also think it's "strange" to see and will out people off... but the government clearly believe it will restore some confidence.
What's the point of electing a Government at all, then? If it doesn't matter who is in charge, the response to this would have been functionally identical... wouldn't this make the choice pointless?
No matter who was in charge, 100% of people wouldn't agree with 100% of decisions.
