It's possible to overstate the importance of Oasis. Slovenly covers band with delusional tendencies.
Right place, right time, the year of the mouth-breather.

Just sayin'.
Tomus, I mentioned that I meant LR was.an influence on Jagger as a performer, not as a musician. :)
Abba influenced a lot of bands Roy, why not Oasis. I'm pretty sure Bucks Fizz probably weren't though :o)
Ultimately, everyone is influenced by what's gone before whether they're aware of it or not. It can't possibly be otherwise.
^^ tomus for BA
Without Little Richard, there would have been no Cliff Richard. Isn't that where Harry Webb got part of his name from?
It is.

//The name Cliff was adopted as it sounded like "cliff face", which suggested "Rock". It was "Move It" writer Ian Samwell who suggested the surname "Richard" as a tribute to Webb's musical hero Little Richard.//
Mmmmm, just think, one week earlier and it could have been the first and last performance by Escarpment Haley and we'd have missed out on god-bothering dweeb Harry.

Ain't life grand
Tis that Doug.

Not odd at all, nope, normal as.
You didn't have to do that.
Neither did he.
LOL ^^^^^
Cliff Richard is not a god botherer. He doesn't knock on my door or pester me in the street, or force me to watch his videos. he just gets on with his life. I have no problem with him at all.
//neither did he.//

BA! :-D
Thud.
Once again tomus gets it right. Cliff's religious beliefs are his own and nobody else's business. May I see ML's "thud" and raise my "doof".

I have to disagree.

I have tried really hard to dislike Oasis, and I have no trouble scoffing at Liam Gallagher's Lennon obsession, but as a band, when they write and perform a song like Rock And Roll Star, and I see Liam performing it on TV, I find it hard to argue against the fact that that is exactly what he is.
He lived long and prospered.

I would agree.

I had lunch with him once on a TV shoot, and we talked about celibacy, and he said, with refreshing honesty, that he found it more difficult to read his bible every day than he did to maintain his chosen celibacy.

He came across as a very genuine and sincere man, I personally have no time for his beliefs, but I couldn't fault him for the honesty with which he was prepared to discuss them.
