First press briefing after being ill with CV, determined to beat the virus. He won't let it win. We will all come through this. Even if it ruins the economy and wrecks the country. We will beat it! I wonder if he's had a bet with somebody about who blinks first. But determination and strength are the requirement. He reminds me of The Black Knight from Holy Grail. This is how the country will end up. Defiant to the last!

I actually think the OP makes some good points tho the sarcasm is unfortunate.
Sadly, and I don’t entirely blame the government for this, while the lockdown has its uses its also instilled in many a fear which will take a long time to overcome.
Ich, in what way has the lockdown instilled fear in anyone?
It has also had the combined bonuses of making people pay more attention to their surroundings and developed their nimbleness for jumping into the road, boggle-eyed, if someone approaches from the front.
so you think the lock down should end 10cs? right oh!
Good point Douglas - I haven't seen anyone glued to their phone screen while out walking in lockdown which is a big plus!
I would much prefer lockdown to continue than risk lifting it too early
so we have another anti British lefty trying to make political capital out of this.
// a number of people on this site who claim to be compliant with the lockdown but who go against the rules when it suits them e.g. going food shopping on an almost daily basis //

the country has had only 6 weeks to get used to this, against a backdrop of many people having a lifetime of "just enough, just in time" shopping, especially those who live in smaller accommodation and may not even have room for a freezer. the shops had got used to that too and many no longer have stores, their storage area is now the truck making the delivery (you could see that on Thursday evenings when supermarkets used to run short of essentials because the "storeroom" was stuck in the traffic somewhere). it is changing gradually, society needs time to take all of this on board. it's reported in today's press that the "weekly shop" is now back I fashion, but it's taken us 6 weeks to get here.
Oh gawd, it's always worse when he comes on hung over.
10cs, are you aware that the infection rates are down to under 1 from almost 4 at the start? Would you risk those hard won gains?
//Sadly, and I don’t entirely blame the government for this, while the lockdown has its uses its also instilled in many a fear which will take a long time to overcome.//

I suspect the fear would be far greater had we not been in lockdown and more people were getting ill. I would be more afraid were we seeing scenes like those we witnessed in Italy and everyone was still going around as normal.
10CS wanted the restrictions lifted ages ago, TTT. His various attempts at satire and sarcasm in his posts here have made this clear for a while.
I`m bored with the same old record zzzzzz
Oh the irony from a poster who decried this whole pandemic from the outset and was ‘still going on holiday’ regardless.

People in glass houses eh?
Oh the hypocrisy of the person above who went on a long non-essential journey after lockdown.
Chilledoubt - in case of doubt, my latest post didn't mean you when I referred to "the person above"!
Diddly, who are you referring to?
danny- TTT picking son up from empty flat at university
Thank you FF.
All I am saying is there are down sides.
I’m not against the methods used so far but they can’t carry on indefinitely and we’ll see that shortly.
You can do social distancing without shutting everyone indoors.
But as for fear, there are many comments here that bear that out.
