If anyone ever wondered why the singer Duffy went from multi platinum to utter silence, it seems that there is a horrific reason.

A young woman has been allegedly confined and raped -and all you lot can do is use this as a platform for grandstanding. Typical AB.

Oh my....that is desperately sad. I have wondered but then assumed she may be one of those artists who produce brilliant but rare music.
That's dreadful, poor lass - I hope she really does feel better and safe now and has good people in her life.
Let's hope she finds her Muse and comes back.
A terrible story.,
I hope just hope justice was done for her.

You see Roy, ifnypu readnthe link, you then become enlightened as to it's content.

Well, she seems to be in a better place now Theland, so hopefully this will be the start of a new chapter for her.

I thought that too Pasta, and Rockferry had some amazing moments on it..

More will be revealed no doubt, but she doesn't say when this happened, how long she was held captive, or what action (if any) has been taken against the person who held her captive.
Who is "Duffy"?

The only one I know of is Eric Duffy, played by Peter Cleall, who was always lusting after Sharon Eversleigh in the late 1960s comedy "Please Sir!".
she is a very good singer, had a smash hit with Mercy
a number of years ago, and was at the time bigger in pop music than Adele...
She was also the type of person/performer who did not seem to seek celebrity or want to be in the public eye.
That's terrible. Hope they caught the bar steward(s).

This is she Judge. Her debut album sold absolute shedloads. She had a kind of "sweet, Welsh girl" persona, and also acted in a couple of movies, one I recall in Welsh language.

I read about this last night and was quite shocked. How awful for her.

Glad she found a way to get through it and was/is getting all the support she needs.
This is a dreadful story & I'm glad she was able to find some measure of comfort & love.
I heard 'Mercy' on the radio the other day and looked her up on Wiki as I wondered what had happened to her. Very sad to hear this.
//...and was at the time bigger in pop music than Adele...//

Adele who?
NJ, You're not the judge who said, "Is it suitable to be read by one of your servants? " :0)
NJ, found the full quote from the Telegraph of the day;

"Poor Mervyn Griffith-Jones, a war hero awarded the Military Cross after his service in North Africa and Italy, was totally out of his depth. It was almost in desperation that, in high-Victorian style, he asked the jury: “Would you approve of your young sons, young daughters – because girls can read as well as boys – reading this book? Is it a book that you would have lying around in your own house? Is it a book that you would even wish your wife or your servants to read?” Once the words were out of his mouth, the case was lost."

//Adele who?//

I'm not sure if you're trolling us or you live in a 21st century culture vacuum.

Adele is the Gracie Fields of the present time frame.
Would Adele be pleased to hear that do you think Mozz?
