I mean nobody cares any more do they, so why make a song and dance about it?

ummm - I hate hearing how bad some people have had it. Hope your boy's happy now though.
He's very happy. Thanks.

It's still not the norm for men to show affection in public though. So it's not completely accepted.
Ummmm, are you deliberately grabbing the wrong end of the stick? You say your boy hasn’t encountered much homophobia which surely indicates that few care these days - which is what I said. People don’t have to be gay to be called derogatory names. Black, white, Chinese, Asian, ginger, blonde, big ears, big noses, buck teeth, knock knees, dopey, clever, fat, thin - you name it - there’s always going to be someone who won’t like it.
Hi SP, I live in B&H and every other person here is gay. I have more than one gay member in my family. I live in a block of flats with many gay people so I just absolutely couldn't care less who's gay and who isn't. Nothing to do with me.
I get what you're saying in your post to me and you're probably right.
It was the word "deserved" that annoyed me.
BTW nice to see you posting again albeit only occasionally.
I posted this on TDs thread...
// Why is coming out seen as "making such a fuss about it" ? As if it SHOULD be kept hidden...because, after all, *we* really don't want to know about it...
Maybe because the person coming out has a strong need and desire to not hide...to be honest about who they are. Is that really so hard to comprehend?
Guess so...going by some of the comments. //

And doubly difficult to do when it means throwing it out into the public arena so the hyenas can have their way with it.
No I'm not, Naomi, we have a very large and a very close family and we're all like minded. So we don't care. I've heard enough comments in my years living in a pub to know not everyone thinks the same.

ladybirder - right back atcha!
// Spelling police alert!! What does "comming" mean?//

well during the war - a German guard would say that (Kom!) to an apprehended POW
and you kommed pretty fast to avoid being shot !

just saying
// People don’t have to be gay to be called derogatory names. Black, white,....., clever, fat, thin //

so if someone in the street says - "hey look at that thinny over there - stick insect!", it is OK to counter with - "and god there is a pansy over there queer fish he is!"

or its NOT OK to counter with it

or its OK and not OK at the SAME time - after all it is AB and one of the usual suspects.

AB in full swing - methinks - end of!
SP, one thing I should've mentioned was that the gay guys in this building are always the first to offer help when it's needed.
There was a gay Sergeant at work kept offering me a helping hand too...
ummmm, //not everyone thinks the same.//

I didn't suggest they do - hence my examples.
ladybirder

That’s nice - that could be a reflection on you too.

You could be well-regarded!

:-)
Jordyboy9 //You are right ummmm homophobia does still exist,
I for one am,I can’t get my head round the homosexual act between 2 males,
To my way of thinking it’s an unnatural act//

It will always exist, but it's a natural to those who are homosexual who form a significant proportion of the population. There are lots of things that would be unnatural for me to do, but I don't have phobias about those who do. It just doesn't matter to me - why should it?
I simply don't find this newsworthy. So what, Philip is gay. It makes no difference. Hes still the same guy.
Ah yes, that'll be it of course SP LOL:-)
There was a meme on FB saying homosexuality is found in 40 different species, homophobia in only 1...

Says a lot really.
A song and dance is made about it because of a shared love of musical theatre.

5, 6, 7, 8.................
Well deeerrrr it’s because we’re all still homophobic init.

Many gay couples don’t do the ‘unnatural act’.
They’re still entitled to love each other and be together, aren’t they?
