So being able to only buy 12 hand guns a year is infringing rights under the 2nd amendment! Right oh! Beggars belief!

iv often wondered why they want ar15 assault rifles for personal use

I agree. They've managed to pull off the neat trick of making the gun supporters angry, whilst achieving nothing meaningful in terms of gun control.
It does seem an odd thing to do. There are so many guns floating around the USA (estimate 400 million) that this is just doing noting except peeing people off as pointed out above.

Different types for different jobs. A Kalishnikov is good for hunting rabbits, whilst an Uzi is excellent for clearing the pigeons off the roof.
A Kalashnikov is no good for hunting rabbits. Their paws can't reach the trigger.
