If Rebecca Long-Bailey's child married one of Mogsters brood would it be OK to be Fred Long-Long-Bailey-Rees-Mogg?

Why don't they just each stick with their pre-marriage name or decide which one of their surnames both will use? Bonkers!

oops - too many Longs!
I think it would be their choice and not my business
Some sound nice if there’s just one for instance but when there’s a string of them, No, very pretentious
I use my surname and on occasions will double barrel both names .... I do that for couples who aren't married or who haven't let me know what they are calling themselves as a couple. Not really something to get narked about....and people who do double barrell their names don't tend to add all previous generations......!!
If Wanda Hughes had married Henry Kissinger, she'd be Wanda hughes kissinger now.

For our younger readers who don't know who Perry Como was;

"I wonder who's kissing her now
I wonder who's teaching her now
I wonder who's looking right into her eyes
Oh breathing sighs and telling lies
Well I wonder who's buying the wine
For the lips that I used to call mine
Well I wonder if she ever tells him of me
Wonder who's kissing her now......."
Clever, Khandro.
Khandro :-))
Tarquin Fin-Tim-Lin-Bin-Whin-Bim-Lim-Bus-Stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel?
No, not pretentious, but I recently heard Rebecca Long-Bailey referred to as Rebecca Wrong-Daily. Quite amusing I thought.
Well, it is Christmas, so time to wheel out an old favourite...

If Isla St. Clair married Barry White...

She'd be Isla White.

If they divorced, and she married Brian Ferry...

She'd be Isla White-Ferry :o)
If Barbara Windsor had married Roy Castle, she'd have been known as Peggy Mitchell:-)
i find hard to say Katrina Johnson Thompson,
it doesn't roll off the tongue as such.
Google Jacob Rees-Moggs' sons name for a mouthful...
I don’t understand the fashion for double barrelled first names either
That would be a quadruple barrelled name. No reason to ban it, but it would be silly. Folk can call themselves what they want, and I can understand wanting to retain both branches on descent. Helps genealogists too. Don't have an issue with that.
one of the Rees-Mogg brood is called Sixtus, what on earth....
I, too, can't stand double-barrelled first names.
Private Eye has a regular column on funny 'if someone married someone' names - featured in their Christmas crossword this year.
What about the Whall-Karpets & their son Walter ?
khandro, that made me laugh
