IMHO Social Media plumbs new depths, under the guise of sentimentality.

Bit what do you think - poor taste, or comforting image ?

I thought I saw this posted earlier, I may be mistaken.

I have no problem with it at all.
You were so offended you showed the picture on social media.
Have you actually read the article?
Neither. Just is.
If it's helping them in their grief then it's a comforting image.
Probably comforting to his family and friends. As long as he was fine with it. How is it plumbing new depths?
If you find it distasteful why post it here?

I see no problem with it.

Looks like the old guy got his final wish. What's wrong with that?
The Victorian death photography is both eerily creepy and fascinating.
The Victorians were fond of doing that. Horrible.
As for this photo...the man is surrounded by love. Lovely.
I think there has only been a brief, recent spell, in the whole history of people, that death was meant to be hidden.
Hispanics in the US photograph their loved ones doing what they loved. I remember a picture of a guy propped on his Harley Davidson.
I think the OP’s image is comforting. Wouldn’t we all like to go like that - having your favourite tipple with your loved ones around your bed? I’ll put my order in now.

I’m a bit freaked out by Mamya’s pic. Propping a dead child up for a photo? The Victorians were strange.
Many people still do it now, clover- although not necessarily propped up.
I should have said...don't look if easily offended.
Oh my!
Our own death is a bit of a taboo subject, and some do not want to contemplate it.
I think this post was meant to reassure people that our own death needn't be horrible and grim, but can be happy. The picture is of an old guy, alive, surrounded by his loved ones just before he shuffles off this mortal coil. Rather than being offensive, it is inspiring.
