This is a genuine question.

Why?

I just don't get it.

The Jewish people, throughout history, have been persecuted - a friend of mind lives in the Kazimierz part of Krakow and I visit him a couple of times a year, and to this day, in some courtyards, you can still see the bullet holes in walls from the pogroms.

Why do some in Labour hate them so much?

The Old Testament states that the Jews would be expelled from their land, and never find rest, and their name would become a byword, until they were gathered together again in their own land by God Himself.
It happened exactly as was written.
because they are terrorist supporters and tend to favour Palestine over Israel.
Very true Emmie.
There is not a single Jewish refugee in the world, in spite of them being expelled from Arab countries.
How many Arab refugees are there? The Arab countries won't take them in.
they tend to be successful...we know how much lie and bore hate that
I don't think that they are anti-Jewish. The situation over there is complex and many people feel that the Palestinians have been badly treated by the Israelis and others. The Labour party are just more sympathetic towards the Palestinians.

But you are right - I don't get why many people hate the Jews.

Then, "many people," are wrong.
This Post Should be removed E/D , It is Racial and Provocative

^^^How so Gulliver?

Why is it racial?

Why is it provocative?

It is a genuine question.

Truth hurts?
Sadly there's nothing new or singularly Labour about antisemitism.
What is racial or provocative about it? It merely asks why Labour, who used to rely heavily on the Jewish vote, have suddenly turned against them.

Gulliver - Labour, under Corbyn, is under investigation by the Equality and Human Rights Commission for institutional racism against Jews.

This is an undeniable fact.

How do you explain that?
Born losers such as Corbyn always support other losers, the support is mutual;

As a Labour supporter, I welcome any investigation into antisemitism within the party, and would hope that any party member found guilty is expelled immediately, whatever position they hold.

Sadly humanity has a habit of prejudice, whether it be due to religious beliefs, race, political leaning... people love to hate, and AB is proof of that.

We all need to take a look in the mirror as not one of us is free from prejudice of one type or another.
I suspect that many Labour politicians are friends with, and possibly dependent on financial contributions to the party from, Muslims. I am not being anti-Muslim here, but stating a fact, which is that Muslims do not like Jews - and vice-versa, of course. Jews were allocated lands (after the War) which were their historical homeland - but which had since been occupied by Muslims who had come to regard it as their own and now feel displaced and resentful.

I find it quite shocking that a major political party in this country should pander to Muslim resentment for the sake of their pockets and votes. Jews and Muslims may not live in peace in the Middle East - but in the UK there is no place for it. A moral stand should be taken. Well done to the signatories of this document.

^^^hear hear.

Alas, Mozz71, normal Labour voters such as your good self, have the like of Gulliver and diddlydo to contend with, both of whom are, frankly, not very bright.
I agree with Wolf. I think we have to separate hatred for the Israeli regime to hatred of Jews. I for one feel real anger about the way the Palestinians have been treated by Israel. I do not hate Jews.

Do you mean the Palestinians that lob bombs, and then use Palestinian civilians as a shield - do you mean those Palestinians?
History isn’t Labour ‘s forte. It doesn’t understand the difference between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism and it certainly doesn’t understand Judaism.

Deskdiary, have you seen the surviving sections of the ghetto wall in Krakow that was built to confine Jews? It was designed to depict Jewish tombstones Absolutely sickening.

Theland, //It happened exactly as was written.//

No magic involved – but you know that ‘cos we’ve been there.

Gulliver, don’t be ridiculous.
On top of the anti-Zionist/anti-Semitic issue, presumably another reason is that it's more likely to be left-wingers who are supportive of conspiracy theories along the lines of "the world is controlled, and history is manipulated, by people with lots of money"; when coupled with an ancient notion that Jewish people tend to be richer and greedier when it comes to money, it makes for a toxic combination.
