Never mind, Boris seems to be garnering support for a GE https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-50194685
See my reply on the previous thread. The government has rejected the idea.

Labour MPs and I suspect now a few of the Shadow Cabinet, want to defer an election until Corbyn has gone.
But they only have until May 2022 !
/But they only have until May 2022 !/

Perish the thought that the current excuse for a Parliament could drag on for its full term. They might as well all go home & put their feet up!
Corbyn won’t last till May 2022.
He probably won’t last until May 2020. The vote tomorrow is either going to give Johnson his election or it’s going to humiliate the Labour leader. I don’t think he can survive another mass rebellion of MPs especially as leading members of his Shadow Cabinet plainly have given up on him.
The likely course for him now is not to whip his MPs which will make it look less like a rebellion
Even if the Tories have a lead in the polls, in the event of a GE they still won't have a working majority in the House of Commons (thank goodness)
They will if the current polls are right
Labour must elect a new PM for them to at least look like a decent opposition party.
I think you just promoted Jezza!

diddlydo, how do you work that out? please explain your reasoning.
Because until Boris and his other Brexiteers can get the support of all the other parties combined and he accedes to Corbyn's "get the no-deal off the table", Boris is doomed and the sooner the arrogant selfish git realises this the better.
diddlydo, spoken like a true dyed in the wool remainiac.
I am not ashamed of being a Remainer and anti-Tory.
Tora,
I’ve just been looking at your 2017 General Election prediction.
You revised down from a 85 seat majority to a 50 seat majority. The result was no majority for the Conservatives after losing 13 seats.
15.15,Gromit. Me Thinks the o/p should award you best answer for that one me old china, PMSL.

yes but look at those results, Mrs May was less than 1% less than St Tony in 1997, Jezza not far behind that. In any other election in History that would have been a landslide for either. In the end it was so polarised that they cancelled each other out. I doubt that will happen again.

some people are wrong once in a while, happens to best of us...whilst others are always wrong all of the time

that was to 18:22...
Question Author
1997: Blair 43.2%, seats 418
2017: May 42.4%, seats 317
in any election it would have been a landslide.
