It's official as of 16:38 today ma'am, you may stand down.

Your country thanks you etc.
Here's a novel idea....

Why not have a vote in Parliament as to whether the Queen should intervene? ;-)

Not a bad idea except the losers would want best of three. :o)
Rogues the lost of 'em, pro and anti.
Jeremy Vine has been on Eggheads too long.

He asks too many questions...
//The Queen probably knows as much about Brexit as Greta Thunberg knows about the climate.//

You do Her Majesty a grave disservice (either that or you are affording Miss Thunberg more credit than she deserves). The Queen is probably as well briefed on Brexit as any body outside politics (and she's as far outside politics as anybody can be).
I think the Queen is a 'Remainer' on this issue... firmly in her chair in the Palace.
The link won't work on my tablet. What kind of intervention is he proposing?
Only if she took the military in to support democracy and the people's decision; not to destroy it, our reputation as a nation, and lose the trust of the population. Afterwards perhaps the authorities could update/replace the existing system with one that creates a democracy.
OG, it makes me wonder these days though.

Who are the 'authorities' and 'what actually defines a 'democracy'? :-(
The authorities are those with the power to get things done. A democracy is where the majority view is respected. Difficult to do properly in practice, but assigning folk to monitor the prevailing view in their area and do the basic 'bread and butter' decisions for us, taking our view into consideration, helps. Binding referenda should be held on important changes/new legislation. Perhaps one day tech will allow all to join the decision making at all levels.
Yes OG, I suspect it will take a very long time....
our queen has been around long enough, to grasp the situation
through many governments she has reigned, a very educated lady indeed, i have great respect for her majesty, her opinions, we are not privy to, she is the monarch and all that it entails.
By protocol Queen will not get publicly involved in politics, but sure she has some private input at her weekly meeting with the PM.
I'm sure the Queen knows what the damage to her health would be by getting too involved.

She must be very keen to raise her bat to the pavilion in a few years and then send a telegram to herself.. ;-)
Dear Jeremy Vile...will I still be able to use my Continental quilt after 31st Oct?.....worried from Dorset

Didn't someone once point out that;

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl,
But she doesn't have a lot to say
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day
I want to tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a bellyful of wine
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
Someday I'm going to make her mine, oh yeah,
Someday I'm going to make her mine.

?
Yes, but I am not sure that the Beatles had in mind that she should interfere in Brexit :P
//Only if she took the military in to support democracy and the people's decision//

And what would the military do OG? Invade the EU or silence the remainers?
