Wants a clampdown on landlords but he owns a 3/4 million home in London and a holiday home in Norfolk.

Can't get the link to work but it's in today's Daily Mail

John McDonnell has told BBC Breakfast that not calling for a general election now is about "putting the country before party interest". (??)

He said that dealing with Boris Johnson "is like someone dealing with a two or three year old having a tantrum".
Pass the champers Jezza old boy!
Seriously Danny, you'd like someone in number 10 who once wanted to leave the EU,someone who sent a support message to Hamas, who stood at the graveside of an IRA soldier while his colleagues fired off a gun salute, who's been labelled as anti Semitic, who likes nothing more than to lead civil unrest ????
Really?
^^^^^ sorry that was to davebro
Bobbi, sorry I don't understand your post ?

This is the fellow who talked about requisitioning empty properties, isn't it?
Not sure if Davebro has his tongue firmly in his cheek here
Naomi, yes, from the link:-

John McDonnell was accused of hypocrisy today over his plans to clamp down on buy to let landlords after it was revealed that he and his wife are second home owners.//
3/4 million home in London is not extravagant.
Bobbi, //Not sure if Davebro has his tongue firmly in his cheek here //

I'm sure he has.
//3/4 million home in London is not extravagant.//

It is for paupers like me. (and I know, London prices, I live in the South East, it's a bad joke down here)
The value means nothing though unless it's on the market.
My 2 1/2 bed semi in London suburb. Just north of half a million.
The value is irrelevant - it's the principle of McDonnell's hypocrisy that's in question.
^Quite right.
Is he a landlord?
No, but he owns an empty property ... and he has in the past suggested seizing empty properties to house Grenfell victims. Wonder if he offered his - or did he not bother because it isn't in Kensington?

It's the second home that's questionable, not the London home. The Broads property would be worth a lot more now, but as someone else said its his hypocrisy that's the problem.
