/// This liberal idea presupposes that nothing needs to be done. That migrants can kill, plunder and rape with impunity because their rights as migrants have to be protected. ///

/// He added: 'Every crime must have its punishment. The liberal idea has become obsolete. It has come into conflict with the interests of the overwhelming majority of the population.' ///

Missed that one Jim, lets hope this one creates more interest that that one did.
Easily missed when it was posted at 2am.
He is not wrong is he?
EU President Donald Tusk hit the nail on the head with his reply...
// "What I find really obsolete are authoritarianism, personality cults, the rule of oligarchs, even if sometimes they may seem effective," //
Trying to deflect the actual question eh Gromit?
I hope May used ample Baby Wipes after the handshake.(;¬ )
Spot on Mr Putin !
I agree with Putin, too much liberal PC interference these days.
Vladimir Vladimirovich doesn't have many fans in the West but he can count me as one.
// He added: 'Every crime must have its punishment.//

xc of course when it is done by Russians in salisbury when it is something else

jesus there are some gullible non-readers on AB
Sure, he may have been in charge of a regime that has launched assassination attempts (at least) twice on British soil, once successfully. Sure, he may have annexed Crimea from Ukraine, arrests and jails his political opponents, cracks down on independent press, and deliberately bends and rewrites the Constitution to keep himself in power. But at least he hates gay people, so he's got that going for him.
^That doesn't address what he said.
So what about his crimes- where are the punishments for those?
He's right. We are far too liberal when it comes to punishment for crimes.
I seriously cannot believe that this monster is hero worshipped by people quite old and experienced enough to know better, would you like him, or someone like him, to be in power here?
This is about what he said - not who or what he is.
What he said is very much related to who he is, though. It's pretty clear that Putin has a rather nefarious agenda, to undermine the West to the benefit of Russia. Not exactly rocket science, then, that he would criticise the philosophy on which it's based.
