I thought they were desperate to avoid no deal and keep us in no matter what?

Perhaps they don't actually need us more than we need them...
We're now properly through the looking glass. Brexiteers looking to the EU to grant us our 'freedom' through a no-deal brexit... which is also our best source of leverage because the EU really don't want it.

Honestly if I read this in a novel I'd put it down for being too silly.

couldn't give rats April kromo as long as we get out, ideally with no deal. They wont be granting it they are just not trying to stop it, suits me.

All the EU has to do is refuse an extension. Then the UK will withdraw A50 and that will be that. They know we will not allow a No Deal exit. It is highly likely that the motion being put forward (tomorrow, I think) to outlaw it will succeed.

Nothing. M. Barnier himself is recently on record as saying he sees no need for a hard border in Ireland as suitable alternative arrangement exist (the same as they exist at places such as Felixstowe, where huge amounts of goods enter the EU without being physically checked.

we tipped our hand at the start, we took a knife to a gun fight, no wonder we got tub guffed on prime time. Now we have 450 vassalage lovers wetting their collective knickers because they haven't got the bottle to do what even a blind man can see is the only option. I'm starting to understand the people that I would previously have berated for saying they are not going to vote. treacherous popinjay bar stewards. If Barmpot and co force us into no deal then great I don't care how the result is achieved.
