The steward didn’t hear him reply ?. Is 15 mins an outrageous time to be in the toilet on a plane ?
Depends how long the flight is. From Stanstead to Amsterdam, yes. From Luton to Japan, no.
He told an // airline worker that he was 'putting my pants back on' when the man walked in. //

I have never taken my pants off to use the toilet. I pull them down, which makes pulling them up afterwards a simple task.

It could be that this man is really really stupid.
Dont you ever take them all the way off for a treat grom?
Perhaps Mr Adil Kayani would prefer a CCTV looking down on him instead of the concern for his welfare by an attentive member of cabin crew who probably didn't relish entering the toilet in any case after he had used it.
Whether it's reasonable or not absolutely depends on whose version of events you believe.
If you believe the Steward he says he knocked got no reply so forced the door because he was worried and had no idea who was in there then he was clearly acting properly.
If you believe the 'toileteer', it might be the case that the Steward observed who went into the toilet, racially profiled him, knocked the door, didn't give him time to reply and smashed the door open.
Both very different versions of similar circumstances.
"Is 15 mins an outrageous time to be in the toilet on a plane ?"

It's an outrageous amount of time to spend in a toilet anywhere.
(NJ Waits for "but what if you've got this bladder disease, or that bowel condition?").
Unless you're being sick!
NJ....bladder problems should not have been a factor....after all he was flying Easyjet!
I could easily spend 15 min on the loo I bet anyone could. A very comforting place i find it.

Yes, unless you're ill. Selfish.
Please.....give a man a newspaper they can be in the toilet forever. ;*)
You know the times you wipe and it just seems to keep coming? Could of been one of those situations no one wants to sit on a plane with an itchy *** hole.

I agree on a pane toilet how OTT, but on my own loo i take my sweet ass time ;)
// I agree on a pane toilet how OTT, but on my own loo i take my sweet ass time ;) //

Absolutely, spend all day there if you like. On a plane however, people should have a little consideration for others. There should really be a timing mechanism that automatically flings the door wide open after 10 minutes.

// didn't give him time to reply and smashed the door open //

or as it says in the link

// before an air steward opened the door and looked in //
Like the old toilets you'd find in the highstreet? Pay 10P for a poo but if the time is up before you are the door opens for the next clientand you have to pop up and go put 10P back in the outside coin collector
Had he actually been ill and the cabin crew ignored his prolonged absence would that have been 'Islamophobic' too, giving him another thing to complain about?
