Every generation gets it better than the last, so all parents think their children are spoilt compared to what they went though.

In my day we have had just a float pulled by a donkey. If you were lucky. But we were happy.

I don't think it's unreasonable that people were disappointed when the plans were so scaled down, you wouldn't take the children along for that would you.

Soon be forgotten though.

aye, in my day all we had was a puppy with a coathook taped to his head, and the thruppeny bits in the Christmas pud were plastic tiddlywinks counters.
