If you think theyre a muslim then dont even give them an interview in the first place...simple really...i wouldnt want or have her working for me
None of the hospital staff will shake hands and all the men wear short sleeved shirts and no ties - it is a policy to stop the spread of germs. Doesn't offend me
doesn't offend me either. I dislike shaking hands and avoid it.

A friend of ours has a few Muslims working for him, one of whom makes a habit of leaving the office regularly to pray, and often takes himself off for a week or more for religious reasons. In fact, to put it bluntly, he is making life difficult for everyone else simply because he can’t be relied upon to be available to do the job when the job needs doing. He’s just been passed over for promotion. Can’t think why.
I’m fed up to the back teeth with the lot of them.

Wow, that must take up considerable amounts of your valuable time!
Haha me too ...

Absolutely, she's a Muslim, they are always trouble - stick to white men, far easier.

No reason to do that. Colour isn't an issue.
Agree with you at 17:00 Rim.
Why wouldn't she shake hands with a member of the opposite sex? What did she think would happen if she did? Somehow get contaminated by an infidel? Would her hand drop off or something?
The stupidity and arrogance of religion never ceases to amaze me.
TTT - // yeah bang on naomi, that's the real reason, the interviewer correctly spotted that she'd be nowt but trouble if he hired her probably would see £3k compo as a result. //

Well of course, being a woman and a Muslim, it's just asking for trouble isn't it.

They would have been better not interviewing her in the first place on the basis of her faith and gender alone - but since they did, a little courtesy would not go amiss.

I am an atheist, my wife is a Catholic, but neither of us seem to find any problems in working around the simple requirements of people who think otherwise about God.

Not shaking hands with a Muslim would not take five years off my life, but getting het up about the way other people live when it's different to the way I live - just might.
I just don't like touching strangers
Whatever Andy. You talk about a little courtesy. What about a little courtesy from this woman and shake hands. When in Rome...
Well said nailit.
Nailit, //Why wouldn't she shake hands with a member of the opposite sex?//

The devout don’t touch members of the opposite sex who aren’t close family.

You’re not an employer paying the wages and trying to run a business. See my post at 17:08.

//You all seem to be doing ok regarding moaning and sniping and being nasty to each other without me,I feel left out things//

A thread with no smut or innuendo and you're still whining Jordy? No pleasing you...
