Wasn't it the Congress set in motion these sanctions?
And it has only taken him 4 months. Gee, whaddaguy.

Yes, whaddaguy, unlike May who pointed the finger at Russia from day one, pity she isn't as quick at sorting the EU out.
Why has Trump not again claimed he is saving the world with this action ? These sanctions have nothing to do with Trump, it is Congress which is instigating them apparently somewhat to Trump's annoyance although he has been uncharacteristically silent.
It's not clear what Trump's role in these new sanctions is, but -- unusually for him -- he hasn't taken the credit, yet. I would have thought he'd be happy to use them as an example of why "there was NO COLLUSION", but so far nothing. Odd.
All very fascinating. Of course this completely vindicates Theresa May’s ‘finger pointing from day one’.
Why it’s fascinsting is it’s another example of how the US administration’s actions so often contradict the bizarre rhetoric of the president. This administration for example has sold lethal weaponry to Ukraine - something Obama never did. And yet all the while we get these worrying ramblings from Trump which never include any direct criticism of Putin.
I suspect it’s more likely because he can’t help admiring the bloke and what he thinks is the setup over there ie ‘strong leader’, ‘nationalistic’, gets things done blah blah blah and if he starts laying into him the spell will be broken.
Either that or fear of ‘Pee Tapes’ :-)
But is enjoying a golden shower something that the POTUS should be ashamed of? It just goes to show he's human.
yup sandy roe has it

I am afraid Trumpo has kept quiet on this
( or as trump might say - he has NART kept quiet on this - - -
they had missed out a nart, fake nooz)

state dept has to do this according to a law of 2003

( and state depts can be forced to obey the law of the land of the free as presidents can too)

Officials of the govt cannot look at a law and say 'Oh I will ignore that!" - decided as long ago as 1687 - Declaration of Indulgence - James II was told he could not direct that penal laws against Roman Catholics should not be enforced.
do you think hilarious would have said anything at all, democrats got to lovem..so fickle and self serving, reminds of yea go kick their butts from the back of the crowd..then does a runner
even the rooshans are puzzled by Trump smooching wiv Putin
and den doing this....

so would I
Great!

Let's hope the policy stays the same next month, eh?

Don't you mean something Obama's administration never did?
Yes.
The heartening thing about the statement is it doesn’t appear to mention any threat to the US : it’s action in the defence of international law and the attempted murder by the Russian state of its own citizens.
ken: "And it has only taken him 4 months. Gee, whaddaguy. " - oh dear, do keep up, these are new, he did the first lot with the expulsions after the original poisoning.
is it trump or congress who supports the uk..i don't think he actually cares..not really, he's a business man and if his agenda is to make the usa prosperous, then that's all he cares about, but dwight d. eisenhower and harry truman were probably the best to date.
