//The Great Pyramid of Giza can collect and concentrate electromagnetic energy in its chambers and at its base, scientists have discovered....Its ability to concentrate electric and magnetic energy was discovered by a team of researchers led by scientists from ITMO University in the Russian city of St Petersburg.//

Jim, what's that supposed to mean?
All this meme culture you're missing out on... sad.
Oo will it sharpen razor blades?
Question Author
I have no idea what meme culture is ..... but if you don't find this interesting buzz off. Don't spoil the thread for those who might be interested.

^That to Jim.
I make from it that it must be silly season for the news media. And in the event that anything is focused, it's pure coincidence.
From Naomi's link, // one may conclude that pyramidal objects located on a substrate and supporting multipole resonances can significantly suppress the reflection of incident electromagnetic waves.//
Can anyone explain what that means, please? And how it leads to concentrated energy, whatever that means, too.
I agree Jim

Hey Jim from the surgical tablet in Komombo- yo know they had obstetrics forceps and general anaesthesia ?
the wonders in this world of ours never cease

The idea of "pyramid power" (or pyramidology, as it's called) has been around for a very long time....perhaps these scientists have just caught up with the idea.
Charles Taze Russell (he of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) was a pyramidologist. In one of the volumes of Millennial Dawn he uses Belzoni's(?) measurement of the King's and Queen's chambers etc (in inches as I recall) elaborate his doctrine of Parallel Dispensations.

A piece of theological whimsy later rejected (and then air-brushed from the movement's history) by his successor "Judge" Rutherford.
Maybe it's the universal headquarters of Amway?
Question Author
v_e, probably wise that it was rejected.

But clowns aside .... any thoughts on the discovery, and any answer to Cloverjo's question at 21:30?
It is made of stone, enormously captivating, but has no magical properties. It was sadly facially disfigured by an 11th century version of the same deranged Islamic fundamentalism deployed by ISIS in Palmyra.
Hippies etc have been using pyramid energy for years for healing and stuff, please dinae tell me they were right all along. I even laughed when they offered me a pyramid hat:(
Laugh if you wish but this is nothing new. A few examples:

There are patents:

and devices:

I've read about micron-sized devices but can't locate that right now.

The whole thing seems to be based on theoretical modelling with some assumptions being made because of a lack of information about the physical properties of the pyramid. It's those assumptions which bother me - if any of them are wrong, that will affect the results.

The EurekAlert piece says "Scientists predicted that under resonance conditions the pyramid can concentrate electromagnetic energy in its internal chambers and under the base." Surely the obvious way to confirm the results is to go to the pyramid, set up detectors inside the chambers and then throw a lot of electromagnetic energy at it and see what the detectors find ? My guess would be nothing much, though I'm sure there would be plenty of people around who would come up with endless explanations as to why.

I'll mentally file it in the same folder as phlogiston and flying saucers for now.

It would be interesting to see jim360's take on it after he's read the paper, but I suspect he may not have the time or inclination to do so.
