One Darwin award candidate gets eaten whilst trespassing and they murder the lot. No wonder it's an uncivilized dump.

spath - // It's like a country standing up and getting rid of all the corrupt politicians or bankers.. in this case the village stood up and just got rid of the crocodile farm. // That comparison is laughable. It stands up if a country murders all its corrupt politicians or bankers, but otherwise, it is meaningless. // It was a collective decisions made after the...

/// It was not a 'collective decision', it was a mob rampage. ///

Doesn't a 'collective decision' have to take place before deciding on a 'mob' rampage?
Just had a flashback to my bush-toking days in the seventies where conversation could go on for hours and make absolutely no sense but seemed groundbreakingly insightful to each speaker.

Man.
This is a new one for Answerbank, the majority are lambasting a foreign culture's actions.
///Indonesian authorities have condemned the slaughter of almost 300 crocodiles at a West Papua farm, in an apparent act of retaliation after the death of a local villager.

On Saturday, 40-year-old Sugito was collecting grass for his cattle, when he wandered into the farm at Sorong.
Crocodiles are taken out of dams by local villagers.

Guards heard screams coming from inside the farm and, when they went to investigate, found Sugito had been bitten by a crocodile.

Police said the guards went looking for help to recover him, but by the time they returned, he was dead. ///

Sad story, 100’s I noble prehistoric real life dinosaurs slaughtered over the action of one stupid or careless human and the whole village through lack of education think that revenge to an animal that has no perception of revenge was futile and an empty practice of which there weren’t any winners but just 301 losers...

Is there any more back story as I’d like to know as they’re poor villagers are they going to use the meat for food as they’re sitting on a few years of good meat right there unless they haven’t got a large chilled warehouse which I’m guessing they don’t but then they could at least skin the crocs and sell to large fashion house as they’re literally sitting on a handbag, purse, wallets, shoe and jacket gold mine in which they could hand over half the proceeds to rebuild a new alligator sanctuary.

Fox Hunting has been banned for quite a while now.

Spats they’re dead already, we can let them rot or use their corpses to fund a new sanctuary, death bringing life, out of darkness bringing light.
This is awful on every level really, the fear and panic in a large crowd who were grieving has led to a needless slaughter.

May have been just the excuse the villagers were looking for.
They probably live on fish.
It's a wonder no one has criticised the DM's headline.

/// Slaughter of the crocodiles: 300 captive reptiles are slaughtered as REVENGE by angry mob after one of them ate a villager ///

Sometimes life is just too short and the story is worthy of comment.

//Until more and more people want more croc leather.. The animals were going to be harvested anyway.. the ones they "protect" are simply the elder gene holders that they keep breeding time after time again. The whole place is a dire mess and i think now it's ended, leave crocs to live in the wild.//

Oh I see, so it wasn’t really a sanctuary and more an organ farm under the guise of a sanctuary.

Well I hope after a few months of no tourism at the now defunct sanctuary that the local murderers who must have benefited from the tourism see the error in their ways once they start starving.

If what your saying is true spatch then this is the best thing that could have happened as now the surrounding crocs will not be captured and brought to this slaughter house anymore allowing them to thrive, breed and live free in wild and good luck to the villagers if they need to exact a revenge on any crocs in the future as it’s one thing to attack them in a sanctuary but completely another to go after unseen monsters who can see you on their own turf in the swamps.
