Your'e still not answering the question SP.

It’s not.

Have a look at contributors on questions about racism on AB. There are certain posters who will argue over and over that black people variouslg have chips on their shoulders or are too sensitive etc.

I will not listen to white people who complain that they’re being discriminated against when they look away and whistle when non-white people do the same.

Certain sections of the community are being helped into the police, because the police believe that a) they need to represent the people who pay their wages better and b) because it’s good for their image.

Whether either of these are true is debatable.
I think that’s what everyone is doing, sp .
I think it would be great to have a diverse police force, but there’s always going to be a problem getting to diversity if it means treating candidates differently.

A more equitable policy would be to means test candidates.
Z-M

Not everyone.

But back to the question...why is this cost even payable by candidates?
So you basically agree that giving some candidates money and not others is, in fact, discriminatory?

Sp - sit back and consider why we have black lawyers association, b.ack police officers association?
Would you get miffed if we had WHITE school teachers association? White police association ? Etc?
Z-M

I will agree that white male candidates should be treated the same as black candidates when I am sure that applicants with ‘black sounding names’ are not discriminated against, even before they’ve had a chance at an interview.

When this is raised, all I hear are excuses. Some have even suggested that it’s understandable as employers don’t want to deal with accusations of racial prejudice somewhere down the line.

So no - I don’t feel like being fair and equitable, because young white males have a built in advantage when I comes to education, employment, housing and finance.

And I will support any white person who complains about racism against them when they stand up and complain about racism directed at others...

...as opposed to what we see on AB - a constant stream of capitulation and excuses.
Togo’s answer at 19:51 kinda sums it up for me.

When I read things like that it makes me think...
How does that ‘inbuilt advantage’ manifest itself?
//When I read things like that it makes me think... //

You keep it very well hidden I must say.
Who the hell wants black coppers, school teachers, BBC employees, or whatever, if they are not the very best candidates for the job? Why tell our kids to work hard to get a good job when all we have to do is tell them to wear false tan and change their name to Kwasi Bongo?
Job done. Sod the whites again!
For the second time today, Theland, you are showing your true colours......

And very unpleasant they are, too.
I don’t see any comments approaching those which resulted in a thread being closed, Mamya. Let’s not invite unwarranted censorship, eh.
True colours?
Inverse racism.
Not all men are equal?
"Time to have a fresh read of this I feel."

Why?
