Thanks for providing a link, tonyav.

Hope this isn’t the start of a summer of attacks....
Amen to that chilldoubt - but I fear that it may be the start. :(
So sad.
funny how with these attacks now the primary concern is that we don't "spread rumours" or "speculate". Heaven forfend we think it may be Islamic terrorism!

shouting allahu Akbar it seems, well I never! Looks like the Pals of Gihad are still in denial though.

Almost as bad as those people who desperately tried to suggest that the Las Vegas shooting was the work of Islamic extremists, due to the large number of Islamic terrorists who are white men in their 60s.

The way people react to these attacks is informed by what they want the truth to be.
More sad news, will these attacks ever stop?
He was shouting allahu Akbar SP.
Here they go again.

sp, I wonder if you’ll be kind enough to look and comment here:

ChillDoubt. sorry for the interruption.

My point is, whenever there’s an attack now, the first thing a lot of people do is assume that it’s a terrorist act.

That’s as bad a those who deny it.
It's a fair assumption to be made until proved to the contrary. The cry of 'Allahu Akbar' is just a teensy-weeny bit suggestive of terrorism.

That wasn’t there in the initial report. I get alerts from the BBC on my watch, and when the story broke there was no mention of what was allegedly said.

That's true but true for a reason...no?

2nd thing to assume is that we will be told it is someone with mental issues.
There was mention of it by other media outlets though, sp.

I was reading about the attack for about 20mins before Chill posted the story on AB.

//My point is, whenever there’s an attack now, the first thing a lot of people do is assume that it’s a terrorist act. That’s as bad a those who deny it//

"As bad"? No it's not: the greater likelihood[i (not the [i]certainty]) is that it's Islamic terrorists.

The "baddies" are those media (most of them) who diagnose mental illness within minutes of a clearly Islamic related incident, or who hide the names of suspects, or who deliberately cloud the Islamic connection of criminals by use of deceptive terms like "Asian".

I see Talbot has anticipated my point by ten minutes.

Like trying to compete with MamyaLynne when answering a crossword query.

/// My point is, whenever there’s an attack now, the first thing a lot of people do is assume that it’s a terrorist act. ///

During WW2 whenever we heard the sirens we assumed that it was a German attack.
