Sounds like you sat on it
" In case anyone took offence"
What a sad country we have become.

I was more amused by the fact that there is a place called Leek in England. Shouldn't it be in Wales?

I'm a big breasted bird - it would not upset or traumatise me to see that written on the advertisement blackboard.

Aye it would be a lot better country if we run about offending each other
I like a meaty thigh Susan . !
No complaints had been made, a very small group then.
Can you still get those naughty seaside postcards full of innuendo?
steg, this country was once renowned for its sense of humour, now it's laughed at for its ridiculous PC. If you read the link the police received no complaints so nobody, in this case, is running around offending or being offended. Unless of course it offends you.
Aye I’m totally offended like, lol

You do sound peeved tho
Really doesn't take much to get people worked up. Man was told to ensure that his jokes don't cross a line and everyone loses their ****. People who are worried about how nowadays we are way too easily offended get worked up so easily...
while the police were wasting their time on this nonsense they probably missed a serious crime ...
The police are keen to prosecute people for wasting police time. It is a pity they are immune from prosecution for wasting their own time and public money. In any case, as far as I am aware, causing offence is not a crime per se, unless it is likely to lead to offences under the Public Order Act.
Our local press ran a story about a cat that was stuck up a tree for five days. That's real news. :-)

Ahh, that’s where “whingeing poms” comes from then
What a waste of police time and thoughts. Nobody has complained in the last ten years. I would love it if our local butchers had signs like that.
One would have thought the police would have something better to do with their time.I take it they have sold solved all the crime in the area.
Sometimes the police warn a crime could be comitted, a lot better than waiting till after a crime is comitted imo
Or even committed
"I would love it if our local butchers had signs like that."

Many people would love it if they had a local butchers.

What a load of nonsense. Day by day the police make greater fools of themselves. They've moved on from trying to catch criminals that make law-abiding citizens' lives unpleasant (e.g. burglars, anti-social thugs) preferring instead to hammer the law-abiding citizens themselves. Much easier to give them a warning "in case anybody is offended" than it is to chase a couple of burglars down a dark alley on a wet night.

Yes, well done the police. After ten years they've nipped this one in the bud.
