Only if he shares it with Kim Jong-Un :)

Fingers crossed that these talks are productive.
When he achieves peace then they'll probably consider it.
But stating that, they do seem to award it on the flimsiest attempts or intended attempts.

I think it depends on how many peace missiles you launch towards any given country as to how seriously you're considered.
Wall building and mass deportation also count towards a positive outcome.

Bloody farce.

It depends on the outcome of the talks. It’s a positive move (getting together), but as yet - cannot be judged as a success.

With regard to Obama, from the Nobel site:

//Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts.

The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.//
well they gave it to St Tony! PMSL! Hitler was once nominated! just shows how silly the Nobel committee are!
Depends what comes of it. If it all goes Stormy Daniels up then probably not
I believe that anyone can be nominated by anyone. The Nobel committee probably didn’t actually nominate Hitler themselves
If he’s stopped Kim & Co going bananas, I suppose he has to be as worthy as some of the other recipients.
If we're going to take this idea seriously -- and, for sure, if the talks work out, we should -- then I'd hope that the South Korean president is also nominated. Moon Jae-In has done quite a lot himself to advance the prospect of peace talks.

Welcome back sp it's been a long time.

Geir Lundestad told the AP news agency that the committee hoped the award would strengthen Mr Obama.

Instead, the decision was met with criticism in the US. Many argued he had not had any impact worthy of the award.

Mr Lundestad, writing in his memoir, Secretary of Peace, said even Mr Obama himself had been surprised.

"No Nobel Peace Prize ever elicited more attention than the 2009 prize to Barack Obama," Mr Lundestad writes.

"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for".
Yes, welcome back sp, and I think you may have missed this "Dreadful News - Warning" thread from 20th Feb:

No, he should not. He is just doing is job. Obama should not have been either.

As for the war monger Bliar getting it that rather shows how pointless the award is.
Only if he gets somewhere.
Tony Blair never won the Nobel Peace Prize though :/
Yes...I’m now going through what everyone else on AB went through two months ago.

AOG, your response to the news (logging off for the day) was probably the nicest and most honourable thing I’ve ever read on AB.
Apologies for the sidetrack - I’m just catching up on AB news.
Peace prize, no, but respect if he is successful on NK nuclear problem.
Douglas has it @ 11:26 Bloody Farce

The Guardian (so it must be true)
America dropped 26,171 bombs in 2016.

Peace and love, peace and love.
