Difficulties?
And:-
//The YouGov poll showed 69 per cent of Tory voters think Mrs May should stay. Just 18 per cent said she should stand down. Among voters from all parties, 41 per cent backed her, compared to 34 per cent who said she should go.//
Major wasn't knifed, he went of his own free will and accord after losing the election.
Jack....forgotten all about Major's "***" then have you ?

I notice you aren't able to refute my statement where it concerned Thatcher though !
If Thatcher had fought on instead of throwing in the towel I am convinced she would have won again.
Jack....really ?

With John Major hiding behind a toothache, John Gummer sniveling into his hankie, and the rest of the Cabinet queuing up outside the Cabinet Room, to tell her to go ?
Shortly after she announced her intention to step down Kinnock tabled a motion of no confidence in the HofC. She wiped the floor with him. Many of the backstabbers were regretting what they had done.
Jack....with respect, you are attempting to re-write history. I suggest you study the last days of Thatcher and then come back to the debate.

But, for starters, she was abandoned by here Party, because that same Party saw her as a liability, and her continuing presence in Number Ten was tantamount to offering the next Election on a plate to about to Labour.......that is why the knives came out.

As soon as she was out of the way, The Tories popularity began to grow, and they went to win the next Election under John Major.

That is how popular she was. One of her less-esteemed male colleagues said " that all great political careers end in failure", and he was right on that point at least.

I had forgotten just how cringingly awful Kinnock was.
I have just rewatched the Vote of N Confidence debate from 1990, and it was indeed a confident performance from Thatcher.

I suggest Mikey wates it too...

May’s choice: Lead or go
In the cover story in tomorrow’s Spectator, James Forsyth says the Prime Minister only has two options left.
Re the so-called exodus from the Labour Party:

The headline of the above article refers to the plunging membership of the Conservative Party.

The above site…http://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN05125
This horse’s mouth, as it were, gives figures for all bar one of the UK’s main political parties but contains the following sentence:
“As of December 2013 (latest published figure) the Conservative Party had 149,800 members.”
Note especially the interesting fact that they have refused to divulge their membership figure for over four years! You can’t surely, seriously imagine that - had they been surging ahead in memberships - they would have remained silent!
Quizy.....its not just ordinary members that they are losing :::

Lord Bates quits as government minister after arriving late

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-42885987

( I wonder if this chap was known as Master Bates when he was in school ? )
Khandro....lots on here have their heads in the sand.

Which one of those two options do you think she will take ?
mikey; I can't see her going voluntarily, I don't think the bottle of Scotch and a revolver are quite her style.

Here's an extract from tomorrow's Speccie;
"Theresa May has become so frightened of putting a foot wrong that she’s now extremely reluctant to confront any controversial issue. This is an exceedingly dangerous position for a Prime Minister. You can’t lead if you can’t make decisions. Her timidity has been exacerbated by the election. Her unusually bold call to go to the country four years early blew up in her face and as a result, she is more cautious than ever —"
Khandro....Yes, I agree, so its the stab in the back that we are left with then......

As Gulliver said, she should beware the Ides Of March.
She'll be gone by Easter, imo. Then you'll be sorry, Gullible.
We will hold you to that Spicey !

But that makes it after the Ides !.....what a disappointment !
Et tu, Boris? She will be heard to say.
We will hold you to that Spicey !

How can you possibly hold spicey to that?
Excuse my ignorance, who is or was TBW.
TBW. To me, That Blessed Wonder but to others, That Bloody Woman.
