Yep, the Republicans have gone all out war on the FBI. There is only going to be one winner long term in that scrap.

// Under an obscure committee rule to make the classified memo public, which has never been invoked in the panel's 40-plus-year history... //

Using an obscure rule smacks of desperation. Publishing classified material to save their own skin is a dangerous game, and one which may come back to bite them.

// The Department of Justice (DoJ) has said it would be "extraordinarily reckless" to release the document. //

// In a letter to Mr Nunes last week, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd emphasised "the damaging impact that the release of classified material could have on our national security and our ability to share and receive sensitive information from friendly foreign governments". //

The Nunes memo seems to be flawed. It asserts that the investigation into Carter Page was illegal because The FBI were acting on Hillary’s dodgy dossier, compiled by British Spy Christopher Steele. But the FBI file on Page was opened long before that in 2013, when the Russians had tried to recruit Page.

As you say, ‘Can wait’. Neither can I.

Even the most demented anti-Trumper will realise they've been backing the wrong horse, imo.
The level of corruption by Hillary, the DNC, FBI, etc, is staggering.
Mikey says McCabe stepped down after criticism from Trump.(boo-hoo)
He was sacked by his boss, Wray, after seeing this memo.
Rubbing my hands together, gromit.
Just like the Trump/Russia evidence ... we could be waiting forever.
I'm really not sure if there will be any winners out of all this.

Both sides need to stop this accusation and counter accusation nonsense and get on with running the country.
// Rubbing my hands together, gromit. //

Me too. All great entertainment.

Trump is making a lot of enemies with all his sackings. One of those will come be his undoing.

Slight correction. McCabe resigned. He was due to leave in March anyway. Trump instructed Wray to sack McCabe, but he was reluctant. The resignation made it easier for Wray.

Yes, a report into bias against the Republican Party by ... the Republican Party. I wonder where that is going :-)
ymb is correct: US politics is hideously embittered and divided and gerrymandering is rife. I can’t see how this is going to help
The Republicans seem to be going to extraordinary lengths to discredit the Meuller investigation into Trumps connections to Russia.

They know the report will criticise Trump (or worse), so they have already started to shoot the messenger.

Possibly but with so much "Fake News" from all sides who knows what the truth is?

Hopefully Robert Mueller does. He was appointed by Republican Bush as head of the FBI and was the longest serving in that role since Hoover.
Muellers CV while working for Republican Presidents is impressive. Prior to his appointment as FBI Director, Mueller served as a United States Attorney, as United States Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division and as Acting U.S. Deputy Attorney General.
Mueller served as a Marine Corps officer during the Vietnam War, and received the Purple Heart Medal.

If any can spot the difference between disinformation and lies, it is Mueller.

That's why he had Peter Strzok on his team along with 9 people who donated to the Clinton campaign and 1 who received a $700,000 kickback from Hillary.
unusual circumstances demand desperate measures
//Using an obscure rule smacks of desperation.//

when speaker Martin ( who he den?) went for corruption - the one before Bercow ( who he den 2?)I think - the last time a house of commons speaker went for corruption was ... 1697 [wen dat den?]

The CIA has imploded before - James Jesus Angleton ( who he den?) had a think about carmies under the bed ( what dey den?) and just about destroyed it - or cleansed it depending on your opinion

and yeah I know this is about the FBI ....

I agree only one winner - however that great president is sure that the FBI is not fit for purpose ( a bit like our CPS - what dat den?) - his purpose that is ! - hur hur hur.
^^^ thing about reds under the bed ...

blimey this is like Dave Spart in Private Eye ! Can you expand on the 'etc' - - - no no please and answer " et cetera" - take that as done
Peter Strzok was not partisan, he was critising Democrats as well as Trump. They also attacked Chelsea Clinton, Attorney General in the Obama administration Eric Holder, former Democratic Governor Martin O'Malley, and Bernie Sanders, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.

They were private texts and unknown to Mueller. When the texts were made public, Strzok was taken off the case.

'Peter Strzok was not partisan'

Lol, you are a laugh, gromit.
That should have read his comments were not partisan. His wife stood for senate as a Democrate, but his texts were critical of them too.

// Peter Strzok had on his team 1 who received a $700,000 kickback from Hillary. //

No he didn’t. He had McCabe on his team and he did not get any money. McCabe’s wife stood for election as a Democrat, so $500,000 was spent on her campaign. She didn’t get elected.

"If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth"
