As the leader of the largest party in the Scottish Executive she is the nearest Scotland has to a leader, but even then Westminster is more important as it covers the whole Union.

Worth noting the inequality of different countries in the Union having different levels of executive or whatever, and one unvalued one not having one at all. Whether it is better for all to have one or all to not have one and save the money, is for debate.
" is she like the leader of Scotland " ? That would be a yes, first minister , they even have a parliament !!!!

Just shows that "fake news" isn't a feature of politics in the USA alone. Daily Wail and Daily Torygraph and their readers, eh?
Ha ha yes nice one emmie! Freudian slip perhaps by the DT journalist.
That point about fake news is one that had crossed my mind ...
if she does not respect the UK and therefore the flag under which the UK forces and a lot from the republic of ireland fought to keep scotland non fascist . then she should lose the subsidy that the most of the UK pay to her government. it then should be offered directly to local government in scotland. she and salmond are weaselly small-minded people who would rather bankrupt scotland than admit that that beautiful country is best served by staying in the UK
Magpie, you do know the news was fake ?
Flags? Unimportant...just like the colour of passports. In the great scheme of things the colour or the shape of a flag is, to my mind, of no importance.....
Perhaps you would be unperturbed by the Swastika flag flying then Mally?
Togo, what a ridiculous if not insulting post .
Squeak.... Mally says that flags are unimportant..... do let Mally answer instead of conflating with no discernable reason other than agitation.
Some say that Schadenfreude is not a desirable emotion but I confess to having it in spades last year when Salmond lost his seat to the Tories, of all people!
the Mail has apologised for printing the lie (they're "happy to clarify..."). Still, it seems to have sucked in the usual suspects.
