Regarding the shackled siblings...it doesn't bear thinking about. All I can think is "why?"

Mikey you have seriously gone down in my estimations, what a twit.
MIKEY
THE WESTS!!!
Ummm...yes, every one.

Have you read my link about California ?

For the last time.....I don't have an issue about home schooling, as long as some kind of inspection system is in place. In California, no such system is allowed.

There is NO kind of inspection system here Mikey, DO YOU UNDERSTAND???

Mikey....you don't have to be checked here either. Why is that information not sinking in?
KV....stop shouting...it doesn't become you !

If that is the case, then that is plainly wrong.

But if we are indeed the same as California, why hasn't a similar case occurred here ?....could it be that religious-nuttism is more likely in California ?

Sqad@12:20...you are probably correct there.
Mikey, don't you think that it is time to quit. You are just going round in circles.
Danny....perhaps, perhaps !

But I am not the only one who is travelling in a circular motion am I ?
Some parents abuse their children in all countries all over the world.
True, but then everyone else is having to keep up with you to explain the obvious.
Surely all Mickey is really saying is that Home Schooling means there is a way for any abuse to go unnoticed. And i have to agree with him.

It really doesnt matter what the variants of the no inspection rules are in differing States and Countries, the fact the Kids are not regularly inspected (both for education standards and abuse) must surely mean that there is a gaping hole.

I have no issue with hoe schooling but i do agree with Mickey that there should be inspections.

As for this case, does rather look like they ran the family as a cult.

BUT, they are pleading not guilty so we must await the decision of a court before casting any aspersions - Trial by jury not media.
whatever the situation its an appalling case, lets hope the 13 members of the family get plenty of help.
Why is it any different to any child abuse case? Is it the number of children involved?
our abuse cases by and large comes in ones and two, except the West's -
ummm, I think it is that combined with the use of shackles.
It's not Ummm. But the number of children and the age range make this one stand out.
The evidence against these weirdos looks overwhelming YMB.

Ummm..........the numbers of kids does look abnormal. Outside of Mormon households, 13 kids seems to me to be unusual, although no unknown.
