I can't repeat his comments here on AB, but they are all there for people to read. Not made in private but in the Oval Office, in front of other people.

Is this really the kind of language that we would expect the POTUS to be using ?

Not read all the replies but I'd hazard a guess that the usual suspects on here didn't argue AGAINST the fact that the majority of the places he made reference too are deemed by a lot of people to be 'sh1th0les'.
'US President verbalises the thoughts of many like-minded individuals' shocker.
Hardly worth the sensational headlines it's garnered.

Spicey.....its doubtful that you would recognise fake news if it droppedd from a great height onto your head.

Trump made all the remarks that are attributed to him, and there are witnesses to prove that.

But as you continue to support this awful man, its unlikely that you will believe anything that is said about him.

TRUMP....I have never met the man, i realise that he is not everyone's idea of a President and i understand this. However, this almost constantly, daily, criticism of this man, with questionable adjectives, may well turn out to be counterproductive as there may, just may accumulate a sympathy vote.

If Trump were to start behaving with some dignity and decorum, and stop putting both of his feet into every cow pat he can find, the rest of the world wouldn't be able to criticise him as easily as we do now.

If the answer is yes - I wouldnt like to go out for a drink with you - as by five minutes after opening time I would be in Hospital and you would be leaning against the bar crowing - "foo-ing pansies all of them" - and the publican whispering: "please go please go!"

and if the answer is no: then you recognise that there is a language shift and various styles are suited to various places. As an ex-marine ( semper fi gunny,) you would be OK with the idea that drill square language is not suitable for Bukingham Palace. we can sensibly discuss whether shith)les is suitable language for a president in the oval room
you can predict that I am going to say it is not.

The fact that he is speaking for many who would say the same thing just makes it worse. What sort of a president airs his ignorance to his advisors. His motto seems to be ‘make America hate again’
Or even: ‘hated’

It isn’t a matter of believing or disbelieving what’s said about him, simply that what he said, however coarsely or indelicately he’s alleged to have phrased it, is right. I get the impression that you’re not familiar with the poorer nations of this world – I’ve no doubt you’d have told us if you were - but the reason multitudes of people from third world countries flock to wealthier realms is because their home countries are, indeed, as he is alleged to have said, shitholes. They really are. Your problem seems to be that he said it at all, but it’s a fact of life and I see no reason not to acknowledge that. If this has been reported accurately – and that’s debatable – his only ‘crime’ here is his poor choice of language.

Shortly before the Presidential election a recording of Trump emerged where he confessed to “grab them [women] by the pussy”.
The remark did not harm his chances of being elected, and may even have gained even more votes from his core voters.
So Sqad may have a point. Describing foreign places that he has never visited as shith oles, may resonate with Trump’s constituency.
