No it isnt. Maybe to your mind but clearly not to mine.
//In this instance of course it's offensive because it was intended to be, he was dressing Kim Jong Un, in another scenario it may not be, although some people are indeed keen on being offended by everything right down to me plaiting my hair (cultural appropriation apparently- NOT). things like the Black and white minstrels are offensive because of association and connotation, Silurian Morris Men on the hand are not, and no amount of anyone saying they are will make it so.//

If anyone other than YMB is having trouble with understanding this extremely ordinary post I'd be really glad to hear it, I think it's simple, makes perfect sense and is easy to understand- what were you having trouble with YMB?
What a dour, joyless nation we're becoming.
I blame Oscar Wilde. :-)
Wonder who won best costume at the party?

Change becoming to become, naomi.
Well said Kval. I can’t see anything wrong with it either. You do realise in a further numbskullist post we’ll be labelled ‘liberal lefties’ or some such.
'numbskullist' is just your warm way of saying 'off message', innit.

I might come back with 'sad programmed drone' if I wasn't so well mannered.
YMB - // //In this instance of course it's offensive because it was intended to be, he was dressing Kim Jong Un,//

Has he told you that? //

No - I am making an assumption based on Mr Walliams' acknowledged enjoyment of controversy, and I think my assumption is reasonable, but it is just that - my assumption.

// Sorry but people like you are what is very wrong in this world. //

No need to apologise for being wrong, we are very accepting here on the AB you know.

// Far too PC. //

I am many things, but 'PC' is definitely not one of them!

// Just get a life. //

Got one, but thanks for the advice.
I must've gone nearly a whole week without being called a 'liberal leftie' Zacs, I must admit I'm quite getting withdrawal symptoms- but since I speak in tongues, YMB won't be able to understand this post to call me anything. Every cloud eh... :)
Was he talking to you andy? Strewth I thought he was talking to me because he quoted my post- apologies I settled on him for no reason then :/
He was talking to you, Kval, don't know why Andy thought it was aimed at him quoting someone elses post.
The ridiculous nonsense means that all fancy dress parties are off, that's a positive result by the way, as by their definition people are making themselves into someone or something else. Is dying one's hair still allowed? I would like to see the split between those feeling offended for themselves and those enjoying their martyred offence-feeling on behalf of others. If it sounds as though I don't take this seriously, you're not wrong.
Like this Zebo? :)

I love it, kvalidir. :))
Very educational Kval, I didn't realise how much I have to learn.

I'll try putting the lesson into practise.

;-))

Yellow ing up pish tush

In the POW camps during the war whcih AOG remembers well even tho he wasnt there -
The Japanese ( leaders of the Pacific co-prosperity sphere, that one) had machine gunned patients in their beds
( and then marched a cohort of nurses into the sea ( ! yup) whilst 'sister' said - come on girls we will show them how to behave
and they were machine gunned too )

and one of my fathers co-POWs - as this was read out said
'I say not quite yellow what ?' !
oops sozza
must have been SIngapore Feb 1942
by which time my Dad had been 'in the bag' for 2 1/2 y ( Dunkirk ) and had .... 2 1/2 to go

Yeah one of them has, and according to my calculations the period, June 1940 (Dunkirk) until February 1942 (the fall of Singapore) is only 1 Year 8 months.

So if your Dad was interned by the Germans at Dunkirk he had only been 'in the bag' for 1 year 8 months by the fall of Singapore.

Whatever all this as got to do with this thread.
