The SNP stand together with the people of Catalonia in their fight for freedom. Not being allowed to vote, they are beaten to the ground by Fascist police.

Our fellow Europeans are being denied their basic human rights. Why are all the other UK political parties staying silent on this issue?

It's not in their interest to take sides in Spain's internal affairs.
Hardly a human right issue.
This is a long standing problem. Nothing to do with human rights but it was stupid of the Spanish authorities to behave like they have.
they don't want Freedom anymore than JimmyK does, they just want to be directly up the plaster of the EUSSR
Carwyn does appear to be less bothered by the horrific scenes on the streets of Marseille
And surprise, surprise ... Nicola ain't bothered either.
Talbot...the link from BBC Wales News was posted before the Marseille incident happened.

Surprise, surprise. The SNP have a delegation in Catalonia helping and advising the people in their hour of need.
I agree that the Spanish police overreacted (par for the course there) but you have to laugh at Corbyn: not a peep out of him about Venezuela until pressed whereas he's immediately on the case here.
Fundamentally this was an ILLEGAL referendum.
Before we condemn the Spanish police too much - I remember a few years ago king Juan and Prince Philippe attending the funeral of a police man assassinated by ETA. As a mark of defiance his fellow officers removed their face coverings after the mass took place. The hundreds outside applauded the brave gesture. I don’t know the ins and outs of Spanish politics but it’s only made me thankful we will soon be out of it
ETA?
ETA Basque separatists, Talbot?
It’s not that they are not allowed to vote. They didn’t follow the protocol, therefore making it illegal. They knew it was basically useless, but I imagine someone, somewhere has lined their pockets.
Well aware of that thanks, FF.
I'm not sure of the point Ric.ror is making mentioning ETA.
Because they are wimps.

Because they are scared witless (UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy to begin with as to potential break-ups of their territories).

Because Junckers is a pseudo-Hitler.

Because Corbyn has no sense or education in EU history.
Because they have no sense of our history - or fear of speaking-out- or............goodness I give up! They are scared and spineless is one answer. They simply don't understand anything and are too far removed from reality to know what is really happening and being thought to represent it? They are scared to go against the E.U..

How many more 'Whys' do you need? They are unrepresentative cowards seem sum it up.
