Worst result for her party since 1949, looks like the Germans have had enough of Mrs Merkel's open door policy. Only 33% of the Vote, a much worse percentage than TM managed, I guess she's going to have to do a deal to stop the rise of the FDP.

TTT....Angela won the Election.
They will be saying that it "weakens" Mrs Murkhell in the Brexit talks now will they not? Notice the left wing rioting "in protest" against someone voting against them.
That's not what you said when May won the election.
Like May. Stayed in control but with a lower number of supporters, and needing an alliance. One can interpret it as one wishes.
^^ Haha just go back a few months and tell me, is that what you call consistent? ..............YES!
If Merkel needs to do a deal , She can always ask Mrs May how to do it !!! the Cons are good at it .

Mikey: "TTT....Angela won the Election. " - yes, 33% of the vote TM got 42% and you said she was dead in the water so what does that make Frau Merkel?
TTT...it was her ex-Chancellor that described May as a dead woman walking as I recall.

perhaps but you had a about a fortnights gloating, just wondered how you felt about Merkels considerably worse result.
Doubt Mrs Merkel is overly content with the result.
The Cons were saying Corbyn was finished at the last election , but he is now their greatest THREAT.
Do you ever check to see if there is a thread already on the go, TTT?
A win is a win. Wether it weakens the position of the winner to win by less than before is as we know not always the best.

Frau Merkel may have to listen more to others as has our own Mrs May.

Listening to all sides is a good idea in any case it is just how much credence you put on that.

I believe that if you win by a landslide then you more or less have a mandate to get on with it. With slim majorities you should listen to opposition and if not feasible then explain how and why. If 'the powers that be' fully explain then people should take note and not just demand for the sake of it.
Can she she bribe the DUP with a few million Euro's
It is refreshing to witness the usual suspects celebrating when a rightwing Conservative Party loses ground. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

After the breakup of the Grand Coalition, the Greens will partner with the CDU in Government, an excellent development.
rightwing Conservative Party

Did you type that with a straight face?
Straight out of the momentum playbook.
Merkle will have to create another coalition.

It weakens her but she will still be in control.

It is interesting to see the left claiming victory for her when not so long ago they claimed defeat for TM, even though TM got a larger % of the vote.

Yes, saw the usual left wing riots. Usual suspects on here are obvioulsy trying to ignore them!
Talbot,
They are the right of centre party in Germany, the equivalent to the Tories here.

// The CDU applying the principles of Christian democracy and emphasising the "Christian understanding of humans and their responsibility toward God." CDU membership consists however of people adhering to a variety of religions as well as non-religious individuals. The CDU's policies derive from political Catholicism, Catholic social teaching and political Protestantism, as well as fiscal conservatism and national conservatism. //
Gromit, Merkle is practically a commie.
