Even if you vote against it you can do nothing to stop the EU deciding your migrant quota apparently.

yep, resistance is futile, they will be assimilated into the EUSSR!
Just like within any jurisdictional boundary, the laws, courts, etc. jointly dictate/decide in individual cases put to them for a decision - this applies even in the UK, doesn't it ?
Question Author
It does. And further justify leaving and at least say we have our own decisions to bicker about rather than the rest of the EU as well.

Hungary and Slovakia were just being naughty children railing against their betters.

The sooner they grow up and toe the line the better.

merkel invited them, does that mean she rules over the eu
Remember that even after Brexit we will still be having extensive dealings/trade/ & other relationships with EU states. As the European Court of Justice is the ultimate court for all EU law we will still be subject to the ECJ for rulings on anything to do with UK and the EU .
Despite what Mrs May says we can not get away from the influence of the ECJ apart from issues that concern the UK alone.
The Eastern European EU nations need to wake up and realise what they signed up to. Of course they all thought it was simply a matter of drawing endless wealth from the five (soon to be four) net contributors to the EU slush fund (sorry, "budget"). They now know what it really means - having illegal immigrants forcibly foisted upon you regardless of your national Parliament's decisions.
What Eddie is pointing out is, that even if you decide to divorce an abusive partner, the abuser still retains the "power" to make your life a misery.
eddie "As the European Court of Justice is the ultimate court for all EU law we will still be subject to the ECJ for rulings on anything to do with UK and the EU " - chaval cacka as usual. the EU court can rule on the EU not the UK, as much as you'd like your anti british EU collaborator mates to have control, they will not. if the EU court rules it won't be on the UK. get used to it you lost.
TTT any decision made between the EU and the UK will still have the ECJ as the ultimate arbitrator for the EU side. We have no option but to accept the ECJ ruling in as far as it affects the EU state. If for example the ECJ banned a deal we could not go ahead on our own.
Eddie, the intention is that the ECJ will only have jurisdiction over EU matters. Therefore if the UK is trading in the EU the trader will be subject to EU legislation, for the vast majority who dont they wont.

I do wonder sometimes how your mind works. By the same token would you expect say the US or Russia to override our courts?
right so if I went round to my mates house and his mum said he could not come out to play, It would stop me going to play on my own or with another mate who's mum would let him out? Deluded sunshine, eddie move to Luxembourg you'd feel a lot happier there, they'll organise you life and tell you what to do.
^ For example, if we agreed a trade deal with an EU state and the ECJ ruled it was illegal or unacceptable that is the end of it. We can't go against that.
It would not obviously be able to intervene in a deal between the UK and another non EU state. I can't see why that seems to be so hard to understand.
Even once out of the EU we will still be doing over 1/2 of our entire import and export business with the EU and the ECJ will still be the ultimate court for the EU in that.
The only way we can be free of the ECJ is to have no further dealing with the remaining 27 members of the EU at all.
Youngmafbog , you will find very few UK traders who do no business with the EU, it is certainly not 'the vast majority' !
Currently 44 % of UK exports are to the EU and 53% of imports are from the EU
https://fullfact.org/europe/uk-eu-trade/
That is not expected to change significantly after Brexit.
the EU may stop that side, there's a big wide world out there eddie
I agree there is a 'big wide world out there' but there is no easy or quick way we are going to replace 50% of all our import and export trade.
I'm 100% with Oban, and so is probably every Hungarian, go and read the history of the country before you condemn him.
No Eddie, the vast majority of UK traders do no import/export business whatsoever.

But they are currently bound by draconian EU legislation.
Try this Eddie

Seems vote leaves figure of 6% was the higher of the two, but still nowhere near a majority in my book!
