Last week the North Koreans were said to have ICBM capability to reach The States but unlikely to have nuclear warheads. Today the White House says they have 60 nuclear warheads that could be missile-launched. None of the mainstream media have yet explained why or how the narrative has changed.

Very seriously. He's led a life in a bubble.
Jeremy Corbyn and unilateral disarmament supporters please note; nuclear deterrents deter No one will, or ever has, nuked a country which holds nuclear weapons, Trump wont and neither will Kim Jom.
The whole purpose of dictator Kim having such weapons is to prevent him personally ending up in a ditch being *** by all and sundry before being shot like gaddafi.
*** = *** penetrated
Nuclear deterrents only deter rational people, and at this point, if I wasn't already, I am no longer convinced Kim Jong-Un is rational.

*** = rectum
Khandro, Can we assume he thinks as the rest of the world thinks? I somehow doubt it.
// Americans have hope again due to the real changes this President instituted from the economy to immigration. // kh

umm yeah but how does this gloop of Trump propaganda as heart warming to us all as it is - apply to North Korea ?

Oh, Kim Il Jong - hasnt - N Korea is an economic basket case in comparison and so that will make K nuke Guam ?

anyway the stakes have been upped .....
I didn't see Jim's post as a joke, more of a use of humour to make a point. A statement on 'going back' can be viewed as a comment on going back to a worse situation. Sometimes I'm surprised at what causes a kerfuffle here on the forums.
Didn't you hear Naomi? We've moved on, apparently. :P
// nuclear deterrents deter. No one will, or ever has, nuked a country which holds nuclear weapons,//

aaaragh my brains are changing to mush as I read this. I AM right in thinking only one country has ever been nuked arent I ?
[ and I dont think Japan had a nuclear program]
or has Mr Trump recently offered a few alternative facts ?
Anyway, I've heard a rumour that NK's threatened Guam. Not overly sure, anyone else heard it ? The need for a covert op to remove the threats seem to be rising all the time. Better safe than sorry.
OG, //I didn't see Jim's post as a joke//

Neither did I - which is why I asked him to explain it.
He also said 'humour'
Get over yourselves you two. Stop the sniping.
david small, no sniping. Simply clarification.
P.P. Your posts are usually - shall I say, opaque, but I'm completely lost on yours at 8:35. What are you struggling to say?

Yes, Japan is the only country to have been nuked, and yes it didn't have atomic weapons - which is exactly my point at 8:28.
Much as the N Korean regime is plainly odious, one can't help feeling that threats such as Trump's are not the way to go. As has been shown by the reaction from the N Koreans. One can only hope that it is bluster from all sides, but this sort of thing can sometimes bluster its way out of control. It is not in Mr Kim's interest to mount a pre-emptive strike against anyone, as that would ultimately lead to his downfall, and the end of his life of luxury, but ...

/// It is not in Mr Kim's interest to mount a pre-emptive strike against anyone///

But do you seriously think he thinks that way given his upbringing/lifestyle?
ichi; //....that would ultimately lead to his downfall, and the end of his life of luxury,//

That would lead to the end of his life, period That's what it's all about, and that's why he would not make the first move. He may be weird, but he's not mad.
