The difference with this one however that although there was no great damage to property, no fires started, and no police personal injured, there were 21 people arrested.

This appears to be nothing to do with Robinson's book signing....just good, old fashioned football hooliganism.
Drunk idiots, as usual.

But two things arise....why was Robinson doing a book signing in an Off Licence ? Wouldn't a book shop have been more appropriate ?

And why was he wearing a Rangers shirt, at an event that featured Celtic ?

A good question mikey, and what about about this one, why did the police react more positivity towards this riot than the one that took place a couple of days ago?
It's coming isn't it.........wait for it, wait for it........
No idea AOG....not even sure what riot that you are referring to.

A question for the Police perhaps ?
It was a football riot with fighting and the police have to intervene and arrest people they see fighting each other.
Usually they'll let them go with a telling off.
Oh, and they're white, too, that also explains it, doesn't it AOG :-)
LOL @ Zac-Master.

Like you, I'm on tenterhooks.

It's like that moment before they announce who's won Best Actor at the Oscars.
Aaaaaaagh! Ich has waded in and opened Pandora's box.
##No idea AOG....not even sure what riot that you are referring to. ##

Think AOG might be thinking of the riot abuot the black bloke, who died after a incident with a cop.
trt.........in that case, I can't see any connection whatsoever.
It's the amount of arrests, Mikey!!
Still can't see any connection between these two situations.
What on earth were the Sunderland board thinking, having a pre-season ''friendly'' match with Celtic., apart from the money.

Most Jock fans, just go for the trouble!

.
That's a bit of a sweeping statement, trt!!
# That's a bit of a sweeping statement, trt!! #

It comes from experience Ummmm!
'most' Jock fans? Out of the 1000's of them.

It's a sweeping statement. 'Most' football fans go to watch football. A 'few' go for trouble.
And seems to be borne out by the events.
From what I have learned over the years, there is often trouble between Celtic and Rangers, easily spilling over into sectarian violence.

But I am still puzzled about the Tommy Robinson connection to all this. It would seem to me that the DM is deliberately conflating Robinson and the football riots.
Mikey, //Still can't see any connection between these two situations.//

Nor me. One a fight between football fans resulting in several arrests – the other a riot where police were subjected to abuse and violence and had Molotov cocktails, fireworks and bottles thrown at them resulting in, apparently, no arrests. Odd eh?
