What is wrong with this woman, she must be the most uncompassionate person ever!!
Corben, The Queen, Prince William, the London Mayor and others have all shown compassion by meeting 'real' people whereas this woman didn't go near them, instead her visit to the emergency services was staged managed, the same as her election campaign.
The sooner she is gone the better!

Good for you anagram !
I said something on another of these threads that is pertinent to this one as well.

Corbyn is a people person, May is not. Just because she doesn't shed a public tear or two doesn't mean she doesn't care. She just doesn't show it. That does not make her uncareing or unsympathetic.

Having empathy with the plight of 'the common man' doesn't have to be touchy feely.

I would hate to have to hug a stranger and they would know it by my body language but that doesn't mean I don't care.

This is nothing but spin and Corbyn has been using this very tragic event as a political tool to score points because it feeds into the emotion of the time.
There are many things I could criticise May for, but this is not one of them.
Well said, cassa @19.19.

I agree, Khandro, though I would have hesitated to put it in such forthright terms.
Completely agree cassa, well said.
Well not everyone is a quick to defend Mrs May as AB members seem to be!

She has swapped places with Corbyn in the last 6 weeks!
I couldn't care less if May hides from her constituents. However, it now seems to be part fo the job description that politicians to show empathy, so either May does it or she looks for other work. The days of magisterially indifferent prime ministers probably ended with Macmillan.
Also voting intentions polls now show Labour with a clear lead if an election was to be held today!

Why is everyone using the word 'empathy' when sympathy is the appropriate term here? Unless you have also been burned out of your home you cannot feel empathy, only sympathy.

To be honest I find it quite repulsive that this awful tragedy has turned into a stick with which to beat Royalty and politicians.
You do talk some cobblers sometimes Eddie, and today you are on a roll. Really!!!!!
Read this , it was in AOG's beloved Daily Wail as well but they seem to have removed it , I wonder why?

Repulsive - yes, that's the word.

Stuff I have read in the Media but most especially on here today has turned my stomach.
^ As said you cannot have a public enquiry AND an inquest.
For a public enquiry the government set the terms and conditions plus there is no jury! . The government can not control a jury who would be very likely to bring in an 'unlawfully killed' verdict!

do they have the cause yet....?

I see there is some speculation out there (Express comments and twitter) that it was not a fridge but highly flammable material on a lower floor....this suggests it could have intentionally caused. I seriously hope not as the ramifications of this could be even more horrific than what has resulted.
