AOG - // I think that I am ABers No1 Whipping Boy, from venom that I receive ... //

/// Possibly there is a question there - begging to be asked ... ///

Perhaps the same could be said of your comment, after all you said it first.

/// In fact I would go further - if I was to analyse the attacks I have received from
AB'ers, ///

I am not willing to wander down this achingly familiar conversational cul-de-sac with you - it bores the pants of everyone else on the site, and frankly, it's starting to bore me as well.

Back to the OP then ...
It isn't the child that's been used as fair game, it's simply another dig at DT. The idea that even his offspring can't put up with him. Not in the best of taste but as usual generates more outrage than is justifiable.

I, and I am sure anyone else who has posted on here - am aware that the motive behind the comment was to have a dig at President Trump.

But it remains an unwritten law in a civilised society that whereas public figures reluctantly accept being fair game for media attack, their children are strictly off limits by virtue of being too young to understand or adequately defend themselves, and by virtue of being always innocent, merely being children of someone famous by an accident of birth.
Fair enough, but it is the size of the reaction that is disproportionate. What should have been disapproval becomes a calling for blood (almost).
Absolutely correct about that a-h.

The big problem with people posting on social media platforms, is that there is no filter, and no sub-editor to say, "Are you absolutely sure about this?"

You really have to know what you're doing.

AOG - do you think that personal insults are the sole preserve of 'the Left', or would you agree that those on the political Right are also guilty of using pejorative terms about those whom they oppose?

I was just about to agree with your excellent post that you entered at 15:24 and offer up an olive branch, but then I turned the page and you just could not help yourself in your quest to have one more dig at me.

There was just no need for it.

I can only speak from what I have witnessed on AB during first, the Tories winning the General Election, then Nigel Farage winning an Eu referendum for us, the referendum result it,s self, Trump's quest for Presidency and finally, him winning the post of President of the United States of America.

Oh how infuriated the Left have been and certainly showed it in their language.
AOG - // ... but then I turned the page and you just could not help yourself in your quest to have one more dig at me. //

And you could not help yourself in your need to post about it - which illustrates my point precisely.

That's why I am not pursuing this nonsense any further.
AOG

I'm amazed that you missed everything that been said by those on 'the right'.

So many different stories.

I suppose if you're not looking for them it's easy to ignore them.

Like the whole 'ape in heels' thing thrown at Michelle Obama.
It's abhorrent to attack the family of a candidate, it was equally so during the Carter, Clinton and Obama presidencies but it did garner the same indignation. Maybe if politicians didn't use their families for political purposes this wouldn't happen as much; in America especially, the attractiveness of one's spouse, children and grandchildren seems relevant, ask Gingrich who traded in regularly.

We had our fair share over here, with the Mail being especially enamoured of Mrs Cameron, they even awarded her the pointless badge of 'celebrity', her own celeb 'name' of 'Sam Cam'.

It was pointed out rather mischievously by another paper's political columnist who wondered if they really did think Mrs Cameron was all that, or if they just said so because they thought they ought to.
