Why does the EU sit idly by and watch it's borders invaded by the modern day Vandals? Surely it is time to accept that their disastrous border policy is hopeless before the inevitable bloodshed ensues.

You dont need steralization or enforced repatriation. Make it so they must integrate, dont allow Mosques and Sharia Courts everywhere and ensure all immigrants speak the lingo and work and abide with local laws in particular towards women. Also no weird dress that is designed not to integrate. The hardliners wont like it and will go back naturally. Those that do abide will be integrated and most likely wont be a problem

Basically we have been too soft and accommodating. Islams clearly stated aim is to create a caliphate across Europe whilst not all Muslims will be in agreement there will be many who will.
"only if you know nothing of the old sacking of Rome "

A fairly safe bet, I would say Peter.

It's all a plot by the Paisleyites :-)
Some do know, but don't show off. Needless to say a major factor was the decadence and dismissive ignorance toward the majority by the elite, self perpetuating autocratic, and out of touch "rulers".
I'm with Naomi here and of course I don't want babies and toddlers to drown, but why does it always have to be everybody else's fault??? The parents of said babies should be more responsible towards them instead of expecting everybody else to be and despite it being said time and time and time again - how many more can be accommodated, it can't go on indefinetely !

We-ell, it was not Peter or I who brought it up.
As for me I have very little idea what the sacking of Rome involved, other than a lot of , er sacking and stuff.
Whereas the link ....
You're welcome to believe that harsh measures such as that will make it "stop" (once word is out) but the historical evidence for that is scant. More likely they'll just try harder to beat the system (oh, and some of the policies you're advocating are unlawful anyway).

One way or another, our response to the refugees, or migrants, or whatever you want to call them, crossing the seas is just a patch-up job. Turn them away at the borders if you must, but if we want to stop refugees from coming here then it's not enough to make this an unattractive place to live. You have to make their current homes an attractive place to stay (or, at least, try to).

Oh, and I'm not sure I'm the "you", really, that you are referring to in the first part of your post ymb.

No jim.........THEY do. When were we made responsible for their living conditions in perpetuity?
Have any of you looked at Khandro's link? I didn't know America had been bombing the carp out of Aleppo did you?

Bit of a curve ball lobbed by Ron there concerning his link to the Crusades. You see most historians believe that Islam originated in Mecca and Medina at the start of the 7th century, but prior to that all the regions that the Crusaders invaded had been......... Christian. Look back at the previous posts and note Hijra. Not difficult to join the dots after that.
