Why! they even described one judge as being an openly gay ex-Olympic fencer.

/// But the Mailonline appeared to have second thoughts about alerting readers to the revelation that Sir Terence was an “openly gay ex-Olympic fencer.” The headline was changed after widespread outrage across social media. ///

I wonder which the Mail think is the greater insult? Being gay, being honest about it, or being an Olympic standard athlete?
"If the worst they can say about you is you're an OPENLY GAY EX-OLYMPIC FENCER TOP JUDGE, you've basically won life."

JK Rowling.
Its completely immaterial who the Judges were. They sit in the High Court, and should have the respect due to them. Its at times like this, that the DM shows its real agenda.

Its sometimes difficult to understand that the DM is the same newspaper that campaigned so successfully in the Stephen Lawrence affair, for which they were awarded such high praise.
I think sometimes papers sometimes chase their own stereotypes in order to sell copy. And they are in major competition with the Express, so they probably thought they should "out-Express" them, fearing the other lot might go with "Gay EU pervert Nazi judges in Madeline Princess Di cover-up shock horror"
Or something ...
Ichkeria....lots of good laughs there !

A day never dawns that I am not glad that I read The Guardian, although I expect I shall be attacked, in the usual way, by the usual suspects, for saying so.

In some cases it is important that we know what Judge's background are, so that their impartiality can be proven.

In this case I think they were anti-Brexit, so not really impartial, don't you think?

But their sexuality in this case is of no importance, but then could be regarding gay issues.
He wouldn't have made it as a judge if he couldn't be impartial.

What kind of 'gay issues'?
"In this case I think they were anti-Brexit"

Do you just think that or is there a reason for it?
the sexuality is irrelevant but overall they have the correct front page in my opinion.
fortunately there is a refuge for his kind

Fencer eh? Trying to foil the will of the majority..
jno...lol !....but where on earth did you find that that ?
the photo's on Twitter somewhere, mikey - I don't know where, someone just sent it to me. I gather it's a London coffee bar or something of the sort... seeking a niche market, obviously!
oh well TTT if its your opinion that makes it fine!

///and should have the respect due to them///

Respect has to be earned, it is not automatically granted because of who you are.
They could have called him an "openly gay ex Olympic backstabbing swordsman OG. (^_*)
This is nonsense and I think people know it. The judges have ruled that the law is clear and has to be followed. All we can do is wait and see if there is an appeal and they were shown to be mistaken in their interpretation
FF....100% correct. The Judges have made the only decision that they could have,, which is why any appeal will probably fail, no matter who is on the Appeal Panel.
