Naomi - I am a Suits fan, and I can confirm for non-fans that her scenes could hardly be described as 'raunchy' - I think that is a bit of exaggeration to get the Royalists het up!
We already have a Maori in the Royal Family - Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester's daughter, Davina is married to Gary Lewis a New Zealander of Maori descent so why shouldn't Prince Harry marry someone of mixed race heritage. His father married someone who, on paper, had all the right credentials and look how that turned out. Let Prince Harry marry whoever makes him happy.
And all for a bead bracelet
mikey.

\\\\So, is because she is Canadian, or is that she is mixed race that so offends you ?\\\

The latter....mixed race. Why? because i regard the Royal family as a club......a special club....with certain traditions and one is that mixed races should not be introduced. Just my opinion.
If anybody can become a member, then it ceases to be ..."special."

ladybirder - I have to admit that the present Mrs Hughes does not fit the pattern - being a blonde person with green eyes, rather than a raven-haired TV / film / musician goddess.

That said, I have been deeply in love with her for thirty-six years, and I would not change her for the world.

Sqad - I admire your candour, almost as much as I am disgusted by your disgusting racism.
ahhhhh!!
andy-hughes, I have no idea what 'Suits' is, but in the link the fourth picture down looks pretty ... erm ... suggestive.
I recall his Uncle Andy going out with a certain Koo Stark, who was often described in the papers as an Exotic Dancer !

Well said FoxLee2....lets leave this poor lad alone and let him get on with his own life !
Sqad....thanks for an honest answer at last, even though, like Andy H, I am disappointed and saddened by your attitude.

I thought all this low-level racism had largely disappeared years ago, but sadly, it seems to still exist.
^I can't imagine we'll be asked one way or the other.
Question Author
Naomi - it's an American TV drama series in which Ms. Markle plays a character - Rachel Zane.

The character falls in love with one of the main characters - Mike Ross, hence the still shot, which is from a pretty tame sex scene - no partial nudity even, and the scene cuts after a passionate kiss.

What is more important is that the character deals with the same levels of racism and sexism as a mixed-race woman in a top legal firm - and the series addresses these issues as important story lines.

So the tabloids' typically shallow attempt to dress her up as a modern-day Koo Stark crossed with Sylvia Krystel is well short of reality.

So no change there.
Question Author
I cross-posted with mikey - interesting that he remembers the Koo Stark 'scandal' and has made the same link as I have.
do not really think her race would be an issue with The Firm..more her colourful background !
andy-hughes, I'll take your word for it - but that picture is raunchy.
I would like to have been a footman, at Buck House , on the afternoon when Randy Andy brought Miss Stark home for afternoon tea for the first time.

You can imagine the scene....Prince Phillip would be goggling in the background, while Betty poured out the Earl Grey, Andy and Miss Stark sitting nervously on the edge of the sofa.

" And what do you do, Miss Stark ? " says Betty.

"I'm a exotic dancer Madam"

I wonder if they ever got the Earl Grey stains out of the priceless Chinese carpet ?
\\\\"I'm a exotic dancer Madam" \\\

"Madam?"..."Madam?".....do you mean "Ma'am?"
as in Spam..of course.....see I have breeding Sqad ! lol
Question Author
mikey - As I recall, and Ms. Stark's Wikipedia page confirms, she was never an 'exotic dancer' - she was a minor film actress with her most famous role being a forgotten piece of erotica called 'Emily'.
Question Author
Naomi - They have taken a still that looks far more suggestive than it actually is when the scene is played.

This is an award-winning major American drama series on its seventh series, shown around the world - it's not 'raunch' in any shape or form!
