Did you see the name of his attorney?
Hilton Napoleon.
I agree with retrocop
he police should be given a free hand in all this

I mean 'sir why did you shoot me?'
do they have to have a reason for chrissakes - and what about terrorism as a useful catch-all ?
think of all the paperwork unnecessary questions cause ....
do they have
They don't have to make it up...the madness just continues.

You weren't a rogue cop in a previous life by chance. You certainly use the 'verbal' a lot. I have never said the police should have a free hand to do anything illegal. I haven't entered this post until now and I haven't said it anywhere else.
Oh for God's sake.

At this time, with tensions as they are in the U.S., what the hell was this officer thinking???

Seriously.

Mental.
I'll tell you why the policeman shot the black man. Because too many white americans are racists and like the idea of shooting black men. They probably ( secretly) like the idea of shooting all black men, whom they see as threats. Because too many white US policemen have got away with shooting black men, and this policeman probably thought he'd get away with it, too.
Atalanta,
We do not know that the suspended officer is white.

We also do not know what happened in the missing section of the film.

However, the shot man explained what was happening and was unarmed, so the standard of policing was obviously very low. The common theme in all of these films of shootings by the police, is how badly trained they are, and their poor discipline.
Its completely immaterial what race the Policeman was. He appears to have shot an entirely innocent man, who wasn't armed, wasn't a threat to anybody, let alone the Policeman, and had both his arms in the air.

As Gromit says....it shows the appalling level of training that some Policemen seems to have.

Lets hope there isn't widespread rioting and violence because if this, although who would be at surprised if there was ?
That is very very disturbing to read and watch.
Mamy....I agree, very disturbing.

But when riots result after similar events, there are some that can't understand why .....perhaps viewing the video here will help to explain.

//Lets hope there isn't widespread rioting and violence because if this, although who would be at surprised if there was ?//

I wouldn't be surprised if there was but you sound almost as if it could be excused for what the officer did.
Protest. Certainly but violence and rioting is not any more justifiable than the shooting of this unarmed man.
We are getting violence and riots in London NOW by so called Black lives matter and people are getting stabbed.Apart from protesting disgust legally these people do their cause no favour by rioting as a continuance of their cause.
Retro...In no way am I excusing rioting under any circumstances.

But this incident would appear to show the Police in a very bad light, or perhaps you don't agree ?
Very disturbing report indeed. Bad as it is, thank goodness that there were no fatalities & I wonder if it was luck or "judgement" that has ended up with him being *able* to give his account.

Whatever happens next, let's hope that cool heads prevail.
Having watched the video I see no justification why I should consider rioting or violence as understandable. Anger Yes. Frustration.Yes.
If you owned a sports shoe shop in Swansea and Black Lives Matter kicked off with rioting ,looting and violence and then looted your shop stole all your stock and torched it I doubt you would understand why it was understandable and only to be expected.
I would hate to be living in America now with black male relatives.
I do agree and I have just said so in about the sixth line of my previous post if you take the trouble to re read it properly.
I have also expressed my opinion of the anger and frustration as a result of the actions of the police officer. I would understand that and accept it but not understand or accept violence and riots as an understandable reaction.
Retro.....This chap was doing anything, other than his job. Why don't you come right out and condemn his actions ?...why be mealy-mouthed ?

You have to hand it to Mr Kinsey he seems to have stayed very dignified. If I can find a page asking for donations I will chuck deep sea diver or a Tony Benn his way.

This really does show that the American police (who do a very difficult and dangerous job) need better quaility training.
Read my posts again mikey. I am not condoning the police officer unlawfully shooting an unarmed man. Do I have to spell it out to you? I am saying rioting and violence/looting should not be understandable as a retaliation for the wrong doing of the police.
