I am NOT condoning or making excuses for the attack, it IS a terrorist attack but there is no reason to suggest it was inspired by Islamic State. I still think it is more likely to be motivated by historic tensions between France and its former colonies, these have been the root cause of many attacks over the last 60 years. The attacker made no attempt to target Muslims or Non Muslims, he drove straight into a huge crowd and zigzagged at random to kill as many as possible, that does not suggest a religious motivation to me. Nice has a large Muslim / French population so there will have been Muslims killed as well as other' faiths' and' non faiths'.

Why would he? Muslims died on 9/11 and on 7/7, and in just about every atrocity ever committed by Islamists. Muslim lives are as expendable as any other for ‘the cause’. That's why these madmen have no hesitation in blowing themselves to smithereens. You too need to learn about Islam.

Retrocop, I have not been 'hiding' anywhere. If you follow my post you would know that I lived for 3 years in Saudi Arabia where I was responsible for training Muslim female Saudi laboratory technicians. I have almost certainly had more experience dealing with Muslims and their beliefs than most on AB.
I was one of VERY few western non muslim men who was trusted to work with Muslim females without their veils inside a Muslim country. You can't wear a veil in a chemistry lab! too dangerous think of the problems with a bunsen burner.

I can assure you it is true. A laboratory is one of very few places outside the home where a Muslim female is permitted to go without a veil. I do not know why, but we were told it was the case.
I even was introduced to the father of one student ( a senior executive with 'Aramco' the Saudi oil corporation) who watched me teaching and told me he could be sure his daughter was safe with me as he had seen for himself that I was an 'Honorable Man'

How come you are so surprised that a muslim would not mow down large crowds of men women and children without differentiating who the muslims were. Your statement earlier (1211) is unbelievable if you didn't know that they create more martys on the way and don't give a toss. Their evil ideology comes first.
