Noami, The point of last week was to get two names, from 5 candidates onto the ballot paper for Conservative members to decide on. How this has panned out, has denied the members their votes, and is against how the leadership contest rules were supposed to work. It guarantees a Remainer becomes the next Prime Minister, and lots of members will be very annoyed by...

That's a pretty cheap jibe , Sandyroe
No. It was just an observation.
At around the same time Angela Eagle was launching her (almost certainly doomed to fail) Labour leadership bid. It will be interesting to see how that goes, now that the Tories have sorted their own house, just about.

Yep,
Eagle's big announcement was completely overshadowed by the Tories.
The leaders of the Labour party are the collective bully boy union leaders who pull the strings of the puppet on the opposition
bench. They hold the country to ransom and will attempt to bring it down if they don't get their way. They are the ones who hold the purse strings as well!!
If you want to start a thread on the state of the Labour party feel free, Jim.
mikey's Tory schadenfreude is over.
;0)
probably wise, way out of her depth. I would have preferred Bojo but let's get Tracy anointed and get on with getting us out of the EU. May blew Leadsom out of the water this morning really by announcing that come what may(yeah I know) she will extract us from the EU. She now has 2 years to get us out and another 2 to get back to the traditional business of giving Labour a kicking. Good luck Mrs May.
so iot's to be a coronation after all, nobody daring to stand against May.

I remember years of "right"eous indignation on AB that Gordon Brown was an unelected prime minister. I wonder if May will attract the same principled objection? I wonder.
jno, Gordon Brown was the author of his own misfortune. We'll have to wait and see if the same can be said of Mrs May.
"I remember years of "right"eous indignation on AB that Gordon Brown was an unelected prime minister." - none from me jno, I defended the process at the time, I understand how the system works, only the ignorant bleat. Gordon Brown was not an an unelected prime minister neither will Tracy be. Let's hope she can emulate the last Lady to occupy that position.
i hope that means, if no one else is standing, that may can assume the crown of thorns and get on with brexit as she restated the other day. no need to waiti till September now.
"Leadsom sinks back into the obscurity from which she came...........................Andy Warhol was right after all ! "

as will wotshisname, you know, that useless friend of the terrorists, oh , it will come to me eventually...the one thats apparently in charge of some useless mob masquerading as a mainstream party thats doomed to wandering around in the deserts of politics for many decades...oh well

May would not have been my first choice,
but as she appears to be 'The Chosen One'
Good Luck to her.
Yes good luck to her.
I'm more concerned about a friend who finds her sexy.

It was said years ago, that new Tory Leaders "emerged"

Well, is seems to have happened this time....no real contest, just a crowning of the Chosen One.
//I'm more concerned about a friend who finds her sexy// She better hope she doesn't get a text from Stephen Crabb then
Question Author
Stephen Crabb ? Stephen Crabb ? Who the f... is ......

Oh...now I remember !
does this mean Mrs May will get a pay rise?
If so, hope she can buy dresses that cover her knees (I know that comment is wrong but I am so fed up with politicians who are self-serving and do not or will not sort out the state of this country)
