It means that sometimes things happen you may not agree with but the majority do.

Actually the right to free protest is a huge part of what a democracy is. For sure, democracies have to have losers, but the beauty part of it is that they are free to moan about losing without worrying about being punished or suppressed for it (obviously with the understanding that the protest is non-violent). It doesn't change the outcome of the vote, but this...

jim, I said several times before the vote that I would accept the result and yes I also said I would moan about it. I would not, however, be demanding the vote is reversed/ignored/nullified by the increasingly fanciful scenarios, "legitimised" by the even more fanciful reasoning that I see from people like gromit et al.
Perhaps if Article 50 was invoked, then maybe these people would realise that there was nothing they could do, and move on to their next self righteous cause.

if only the remain camp could have conceded defeat as eloquently as Major did.
// Nigel Farageannounced last month that he would fight for a second referendum on Britain in Europe if the remain campaign won by a narrow margin.
Calling a small defeat for his leave camp ‘unfinished business’, he predicted a second referendum on Europe.
He based this on 52% voting in, 48% out.
Back then, he told the Mirror: ‘In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way. If the remain campaign win two-thirds to one-third that ends it.’

yes he is UKIP, the clue is in the name, they fight on if we do not achieve independence, that is their whole reason for being, once independence is achieved their work will be done. if we are cheated out of this vote many more will join UKIP, 3.4million votes last GE was not enough 17.2m might be. If the PLP and the Tories continue to ignore their core voters they may well find themselves out on their ears.
Now that Andrea Leadsom has deserted the Brexit camp will her support disappear.
Ignore my last post.Misread the news article.

what have you seen?
Question Author
ok....consider it ignored!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3671760/Tory-leadership-hopeful-Vote-Leave-campaigner-Andrea-Leadsom-previously-said-Brexit-disaster.html

The Mail have backed May to win, so they have unearth an old recording of Leadsom saying Brexit would be a disaster. Apparently she has changed her mind.
Question Author
......of course, no one should ever change their view eh?
Have you heard Tony Blair today? He was suggesting a possible change of direction in the future on Brexit. Typical of the man. The people are stupid and the system should be manipulated to get what he thinks is right.
Well I suppose if both Tony Blair and Bob Geldof have come out for another vote we've lost and will have to accept the democratic decision of the remainers
I don't know why people would be scared of having another vote - surely the result would be the same?
I wonder how that would go down after every General Election
Question Author
if that's true jno why have it?
jno, not fear - principle.
Maybe if a few more of them got out of bed / given Glastonbury a miss / considered someone else might have a point of view they were comfortable with - they might have won. One woman said I didnt vote because it was raining.......
Leadsom's different opinion was about three years ago wasn't it ? Time enough to have seen the light.

We're aware of the Farage "2nd referendum" quote. Have pointed out before, we all say foolish things occasionally; and it's a rare enough occurrence for him.
