I noticed that after watching the grand pree:)
I think that is how it's meant to be pronounced. Victoria Coren Mitchell pronounced it the same way on Only Connect.
Can't believe how silly some of the questions are e.g 'a trumpeter plays what brass instrument'
They are dumb questions, aren't they? The end game ones are usually a wee bit harder.
I don't know how Ben manages not to wince at some of the daft answers.
I very rarely see tipping point, I just catch the end sometimes I am however a fan of the chase... I love it when Bradley Walsh tries to contain his giggles at the question presented.

Letter Js in Spanish alphabet are Jota, "Hota" so Juan is pronounced Hewan.
So phonetically speaking I've being mispronouncing wan Mata (Of Manchester United, he is Spanish) when in fact it should be Ewen like McGregor.
There is not one Sport expert who can De Bruyne or Oosterhuizen say correctly innit !!

I can actually pronounce that German name.
Wouldn't have been so bad if he'd have said Don Ju wan but he actually said Don Joo Ann.
Anyone who pronounces the capital city of France as Par-is and not Par-ee can pronouce Don Juan however they want.
If the question was about the legendary libertine then it should
probably have the Spanish pronunciation but if it was about the Byron
poem it should be pronounced Jewan (as Byron rhymes it with 'true one'.
Acually here in Ibiza it is pronounced jewan, and spelled Joan!!

^^^Yes, I had noticed...so you only criticise mispronunciation when it's Spanish?
