Credit where it's due, a well known republican he showed it's possible to disagree with the office but still respect the person. A good humoured appreciation of the lady herself, well done for avoiding the sneering republican persona that so many seem to allow to override general courtesy.

Nice to see that even Marxists have a SoH.
Nothing in his speech suggested he was a (quote) "Britain-hating Leftie", as far as I could see, so perhaps our right-leaning AnswerBankers will find it possible to grasp the truth that the UK is awash with very similar people.
He dare do nothing else. Anything less would be political suicide.

I'm puzzled by your post QM, where did I say any of that?
He couldn't have said anything against the queen really. There may be republicans aplenty but at this time he would have committed suicide to have said what he thinks in anyway disrespectul.

Well done for showing the rest of us your not a totally useless pudding. Oh no you still are you just happen to behave respectably this time.
Short, pithy with just enough humour - I'd say well done Jeremy.
TTT, I did not refer to you specifically above, but I'm certainly not going to bother to hunt through every post by you or other right-wingers on AnswerBank to find an example of precisely what I said. Phrases about British left-wingers being people who actually hate Britain is a commonplace here!
Here's one, TTT!

I'd even forgotten there actually was an ABer called Mrs T at one time. Perhaps that was one of those multi-named members, but - whoever it was - I'm sure he/she was a right-winger!
Should be easy to find a few then.
See, I told you!
2007! Flipping heck! That's digging deep!
Ah, but you see I didn't do it the way I said I wouldn't do it, ZM...ie by searching through the contributions of anyone who might have made such silly claims. I did it by the vastly simpler method of doing a search for "hate Britain". I stopped at just one, which was enough, I felt, to make the point, but you're welcome to search further.
"Digging deep", Naomi? I have no control over how the AnswerBank archive is presented and there are multitudes of other test phrases I could have used in order to find one from this year!
Well done QM. See what you can do when you try. Next time don't be so defeatist.
Question Author
fine QM but what I'm doing here is appreciating JC keeping that to himself, can you not see that? that's what the phrase "credit where it's due" means. You just seem to be trying to pick a fight.
Try anti-British.
Me? Pick a fight?? With you, TTT??? Don't be absurd, man.
Dont be fooled, hes taken the advice of his "PR" people and read out what hes been told/advised to read...

he knows hes in big trouble and this is nothing but a stunt to curry favour....
unlucky jezza, nice try but most people arent that stupid to be fooled by it
Naomi, if seven years is too historically “deep” for you, how about three days? As I pointed out in my response at 16.52 yesterday, I could have employed many search-phrases other than “hate Britain”, so I took Svejk’s advice and used “anti British”.
The first example that revealed, dated 19 Apr 2016, contains the words, “the anti British/left wing” and the next, dated 18 Feb 2016, is headed, “Why do Lefties loath (sic) their country so much?”

ZM, I haven’t the faintest idea what your use of the word, “defeatist”, is all about. I said it was easy to find a valid reference and I did.
I think I agree with baz at 17:40, let's face it JC is NOT a fan of the monarchy.
