That's the point, TTT. There is at least one saint for every day of the year. French children have two celebrations, rather like the Queen. One is the 'anniversaire', birthday, and the other is the 'fête', or saint's day. Thus all children named, say, Michel(le), Michael, get cards and presents on Sep 29.

yes I can confirm the saints name rule - and no 3T there isnt a st cyanide nor st nutella ( duuuur )

and one of my age had hell getting Mandy registered ( in Fransh zat eez) altho the registrar eventually accepted there was a St Amanda and they got it on the back of that

I always though that Johan Cruff was a top man for naming his son Jordi whilst at Barcelona. It was a name forbidden by Franco and is the Basque version of George( see the Barcelona football team badge).
