My only criticism is that it appears to be voluntary and as we know that smokers are very selfish people it will get ignored. I applaud the intent though.

I only smoke about 15 a day hc. Low tar and Co2. Tried a vape and all sorts, do like a nice cigar on a summer evening in the shade. 40 a day is a lot hc that is a ciggie every 20 mins.
HC...its ironic that the very people who are most likely to be still smoking these days, are the very ones that can't afford to. In my experience in working with smokers, they will go without almost everything, just to pay for cigarettes.

I have a friend who is involved with the Citizens Advice Bureau. Most of their clients are there because of debt problems, and they have to fill out forms listing their expenditure, and they always lie about the money spent on cigarettes.

I gave up smoking when I was 25, and I am nearly 63 now. If I was still smoking, I too would be on 40 a day...maybe more, and I don't know I could even begin to think about where the money would be coming from to feed my addiction.
I know exactly what you're saying, mikey.
I just wish I could make some headway with members of my own family, who still smoke, despite watching my Mum die of lung cancer 20 years ago.
